Description

Brute wyverns with disproportinately long tails. They spread a flammable substance which vaporizes quickly, then ignite it by dragging their tails along the ground. By nature, Quematrice rarely hunt their own prey, and instead scavenge herbivore carrion left behind by other predators. This often leads to confrontations with other, smaller carnivores.

Here are a few pointers on how to defeat a Quematrice in Monster Hunter Wilds.

• Quematrice's tail will be a big source of incoming damage, as it moves fast and sweeps fire at close range. The good news is the tail can be severed, which disables those attacks, so try to focus on removing the tail if you have a weapon that deals cutting damage.
• You should also attack its head and neck; the head is a breakable part, while the neck is a weak point, meaning it'll take more damage than other parts of the body.
• Before Quematrice performs its fire attacks, you should be able to see some flammable substance on the ground, which will tell you roughly where the fire will burn to. Use this to judge a safe distance so you're not caught in the blast.
