Description
The leviathan that reigns supreme over the Scarlet Forest's ecosystem. It has adapted to water-rich environments and is sighted most often during the Downpour. Uth Duna's secretions when combined with water form a protective veil that not only absorbs hostile blows but also adds weight, which it slams down with enough force to sweep away surrounding threats in the resulting wave.

Here are a few pointers on how to defeat a Uth Duna in Monster Hunter Wilds.

  • Uth Duna is protected by a veil that absorbs your attacks, but with enough punishment it will vanish, allowing you to deal some proper damage to the monster. Be careful though, as without the veil, Uth Duna becomes more aggressive.
  • Its head and forelegs are breakable, while its mouth is a weak point, making a head-on assault a strong strategy, though watch out for its powerful belly flops and swipe attacks.
  • Some attacks produce waves that'll push you back, but you can dodge through these or use Wedge Beetles in the air to evade them that way.
