Do you need a Silent Hill 2 Trophy guide to help you unlock all Trophies and get the Platinum? In this Silent Hill 2 guide, we're going to cover and explain every Trophy requirement you need to accomplish to get 100% Trophy completion. Our Trophy Roadmap also covers queries such as whether there are any Missable Trophies or Difficulty Related Trophies.
Due to the nature of this guide's contents, please note there are Silent Hill 2 spoilers below. Whilst we have tried to keep everything as spoiler-free as possible, clicking through to other pages may well reveal plot points and late-game areas.
Silent Hill 2 Trophy Guide: How to Get the Platinum
There are 44 Trophies to unlock in the game, including the Platinum. The list consists of 28 Bronze Trophies, 12 Silver Trophies, and 3 Gold Trophies. In this part of our Silent Hill 2 Trophy guide, we'll cover whether there are any Missable Trophies or Difficulty Related Trophies.
Are There Any Missable Trophies in Silent Hill 2?
There are theoretically 16 Missable Trophies in a standard, first-time playthrough, but most of them will be unlocked through natural play so you wouldn't need to worry about their requirements. The ones you should pay attention to are No Turning Back Now, Let's NOT Party!, All Seems in Order, Leftovers, Inner Sanctum, Scourge of Toluca Lake, and It's Bread. Unless you set up strategic manual saves at every main location, you can lock yourself out of these Trophies for a full playthrough if you progress the story enough.
There are also all the Collectibles you need to look out for, as they have to be collected within a single playthrough for the Trophies to unlock. Refer to our Silent Hill 2 Walkthrough for coverage of them all.
Are There Any Difficulty Related Trophies in Silent Hill 2?
No, there aren't any Difficulty Related Trophies in the game. When starting a New Game+, you can choose from any of the Combat and Puzzle difficulty options and still unlock all the Trophies — including Easy. There are no Trophies that relate to playing on a specific difficulty setting, so in terms of Trophy unlocking, feel free to pick whatever you like. Silent Hill 2 Trophy Guide
In this part of our Silent Hill 2 Trophy guide, we're listing all Trophies and providing detailed explanations for unlocking them all. Where relevant, we'll link to other pages within our Silent Hill 2 guide when a thorough walkthrough is required. Unlocking all Trophies will automatically reward you with the Platinum Trophy.
You Made Me Happy
Platinum: Collect all other trophies in the game.
Unlock the other 43 Trophies on this list and you'll automatically earn the Platinum Trophy for 100% completion.
No Turning Back Now
Bronze: Try to leave Silent Hill in the Observation Deck area.
At the very start of the game, once you gain control of James after he leaves the bathroom, head up the road and he will eventually turn back and this Trophy will unlock.
Enjoy Your Stay
Bronze: Reach Silent Hill.
You'll reach the streets of Silent Hill after passing through the Silent Hill Ranch at the start of the game. This is part of the main story so the Trophy is unmissable.
Nice and Cozy
Bronze: Reach Wood Side Apartments.
After solving the Jukebox Puzzle in Neely's Bar, you'll soon acquire the Wood Side Apartments Key. Head there and go inside to unlock the Trophy. If you need any help reaching this point, refer to our East South Vale Walkthrough guide.
Let's NOT Party!
Bronze: Shoot all the balloons in Wood Side Apartments.
Please refer to our Where to Shoot All the Balloons in Wood Side Apartments guide for more information covering this Trophy.
Otherworldly
Bronze: Enter the Otherworld for the first time.
This Trophy will automatically unlock once you cross the chasm between the Wood Side Apartments and Blue Creek Apartments. It's part of the main story and therefore unmissable.
Passed
Bronze: Make your way out of Blue Creek Apartments.
You'll leave Blue Creek Apartments and re-enter South Vale on its western side as part of the main story, after the first Pyramid Head boss fight. This Trophy is unmissable as a result.
Uncanny
Bronze: Meet Maria.
You'll meet Maria in West South Vale at the shoreline of Rosewater Park during the main story, making this Trophy unmissable.
All Seems in Order
Bronze: Discover the secret of Room 106.
Please refer to our How to Discover the Secret of Room 106 guide for more information covering this Trophy.
Leftovers
Bronze: Find the pizza in Pete's Bowl-O-Rama.
When you're able to freely explore West South Vale, head west up Nathan Avenue to Pete's Bowl-O-Rama. On the left-hand side of the bowling lanes is a pizza box you can interact with to unlock one of the Glimpses of the Past. Doing so also unlocks this Trophy.
Admitted
Bronze: Reach Brookhaven Hospital.
Having fully explored West South Vale, the main story will take you to Brookhaven Hospital, rendering this an unmissable Trophy.
Nightmare Fuel
Bronze: Defeat the Flesh Lip.
The Flesh Lip is a boss you'll encounter inside Brookhaven Hospital. It's along the main route through the place so you can't miss this Trophy.
Alone Again
Bronze: Survive the chase in Brookhaven Hospital.
At the very end of Brookhaven Hospital, you'll enter a chase sequence with Pyramid Head. Surviving this is built into the main story, so you can't miss the Trophy either.
Into the Abyss
Bronze: Reach the end of the long staircase.
The staircase in question is found in the Historical Society, which you'll need to enter and then descend as part of the main story. Once you've reached the bottom, the Trophy unlocks.
Unforgivable
Bronze: Defeat the Abstract Daddy.
The Abstract Daddy is a boss you'll fight inside Toluca Prison as part of the main story. You can't skip the encounter, so this Trophy is another unmissable one.
Inner Sanctum
Bronze: Find His room.
When you're exploring the Flooded Level in the Labyrinth, you'll eventually reach a pentagonal room where Pyramid Head chases you. Since he gives chase from the right, you'll naturally head left. As you run around the corridor, you'll notice a ladder on your right. Skip this for now and continue running to encounter a door next. Go in here and the Trophy will unlock, with the room presumably being what Pyramid Head calls his bedroom. Or something like that!
A Human Being
Bronze: Kill Eddie.
The boss fight against Eddie takes place in the main story at the end of the Labyrinth, so this Trophy is unmissable.
Glimmer of Hope
Bronze: Reach the Lakeview Hotel.
After defeating Eddie, you'll reach the water's edge and row across to the Lakeview Hotel in the main story. This Trophy is unmissable.
Scourge of Toluca Lake
Bronze: Spend 10 minutes on Toluca Lake.
When you gain control of James as he's rowing across Toluca Lake towards Lakeview Hotel, simply set the controller down for 10 minutes. At the end of the 10 minutes, the Trophy will unlock.
Truly Special
Bronze: Reach Room 312.
Making it to Room 312 is the main objective of the Lakeview Hotel area, as that's where James and Mary lived when they last visited Silent Hill. You'll unlock this Trophy automatically once you enter.
It's Bread
Bronze: Interact with bread.
Whilst you're exploring Lakeview Hotel, you'll reach a section where you have to store all your weapons and items in a locker and take the Elevator down to the Employee Section. When you're down there, go to the Kitchen and interact with the bread shelf to unlock this Trophy.
Obsolete
Bronze: Destroy what you don't need.
This Trophy automatically unlocks after you beat the 2 Pyramid Heads in Lakeview Hotel. Encountering them is part of the main story so this Trophy is unmissable.
That Part of Me
Bronze: Defeat Her.
Beat the final boss in the game and you'll unlock this Trophy and roll credits. Congratulations!
Lumberjack
Bronze: Find the chainsaw.
Please refer to our How to Get the Chainsaw guide for information relating to this Trophy.
Merciless
Bronze: Finish off 50 enemies with a stomp attack.
The stomp attack is the move James performs when an enemy drops down to the ground after being hit enough times, meaning you can finish it off and kill it. He stomps on an enemy to kill it. If you're focusing on melee combat, this Trophy should unlock naturally through the course of a playthrough.
No Big Deal
Bronze: Kill 75 enemies with ranged weapons.
The game classifies all the guns as ranged weapons, so simply kill 75 enemies with them altogether.
Blunt Force Trauma
Bronze: Kill 75 enemies with melee weapons.
Simply kill 75 enemies with the Wooden Plank, and later the Steel Pipe. You should unlock this Trophy naturally during a playthrough of the game.
You Never Know...
Bronze: Try to open locked doors 50 times.
Silent Hill 2 features a lot more locked doors than open ones, so the chances of you unlocking this Trophy naturally are very high. Just run up to every door you encounter, and James is likely to push up against it since it's locked. Do this 50 times to unlock the Trophy.
Shattered
Bronze: Destroy 50 windows.
This is easiest to do when you're exploring South Vale, where you can smash the windows of the shops that line its streets. Destroy 50 windows and you'll get the Trophy.
Making Peace
Silver: Reach the "Leave" ending.
Please refer to the Leave section of our Endings guide for more information about this Trophy.
Vicious Circle
Silver: Reach the "Maria" ending.
Please refer to the Maria section of our Endings guide for more information about this Trophy.
Only Way Out

Please refer to the Rebirth section of our Endings guide for more information about this Trophy.
The Goodest Boi
Silver: Reach the "Dog" ending.
Please refer to the Dog section of our Endings guide for more information about this Trophy. We provide further context in our Where to Find Broken Key Parts and Get the Dog Key guide.
Tinfoil Hat
Silver: Reach the "UFO" ending.
Please refer to the UFO section of our Endings guide for more information about this Trophy. We provide more context in our Blue Gem Location and Where to Use It guide.
I Saw That Town
Silver: Complete New Game+ Plus on any difficulty.
Once you've beaten the game once, you'll unlock the ability to start another playthrough in New Game+. This adds new items to the game as well as the ability to unlock new Endings. Simply complete a second playthrough on any difficulty in New Game+ to unlock this Trophy. For more information concerning New Game+, including what carries over, click the links.
Radio Silence
Silver: Complete the game without using the radio.
Picking up the radio towards the start of the game is unavoidable; you have to get it in order to trigger the cutscene with the first enemy. However, you can go into your inventory and find the radio under Key Items, where there's an option to turn it off. Complete a playthrough of the game with it turned off and you'll unlock this Trophy.
James of All Trades
Silver: Kill at least one enemy with Wooden Plank, Steel Pipe, Handgun, Shotgun, and Rifle in a single playthrough.
You'll find both melee weapons and as part of the main story, while the 3 guns are very difficult to miss. Once you find one, simply make sure to kill the next enemy you see with it to register the death towards this Trophy. For information on how to get the Handgun, Shotgun, and Rifle, click the links.
Pieces Unarranged
Silver: Collect all the Strange Photos in a single playthrough.
Please refer to our All Strange Photos Locations guide for a complete overview and walkthrough of this Collectible type.
Archivist
Silver: Collect all memos in a single playthrough.
Please refer to our All Memos Locations guide for a complete overview and walkthrough of this Collectible type. Due to the fact a Memo is replaced by another item in New Game+, you need to do this Trophy on a fresh save.
Faster Than Fog
Silver: Finish the game in under 10 hours.
This is best attempted on a New Game+ playthrough, when you can use the Chainsaw and have knowledge of the Puzzle Solutions. Streamline your run as much as possible, avoiding any optional rooms and skipping cutscenes. Refer to our Silent Hill 2 Walkthrough for any combination lock or keypad codes, so you don't need to search for the solution in the usual way. Once you've completed the game, a results screen will display your time and the Trophy will unlock if you've managed it.
As Close as You Like
Gold: Finish the game without killing enemies using ranged weapons.
All the guns in the game are classed as ranged weapons, so essentially, you need to complete the whole game without firing a bullet and only using melee weapons. This Trophy is significantly easier in New Game+ when you can get the Chainsaw, so we recommend saving this Trophy for then.
Party Like It's 2001
Gold: See all classic endings (Leave, Maria, In Water, Rebirth, Dog).
You must complete the game multiple times and aim for a different Ending each time, fulfilling their requirements and then finishing your playthrough to unlock 5 different Endings carried over from the original game. Please refer to our Endings guide for information on how to get each one.
Echoes
Gold: Witness all glimpses of the past in a single playthrough.
Please refer to our All Glimpses of the Past Locations guide for a complete overview and walkthrough of this Collectible type.
