There are no collectibles to find in Prologue, as you take control of Sarah just as the cordyceps virus begins to spread.

The Last of Us 1: Prologue Walkthrough

The Last of Us opens with a nice cutscene to introduce protagonist Joel and his daughter Sarah. Once you take control, you'll wake in Sarah's bedroom. Brace yourself: things are about to go bad!

In Sarah's bedroom, you can look in the mirror and try interacting with the phone. Across from the bed is a birthday card you can pick up and read, although this isn't a collectible. There are a lot of interactable objects like this in The Last of Us, so get used to inspecting them.

Across the hallway, you can open the bathroom door and read a newspaper next to the sink. It reveals an investigation into some recalled crops and that a series of strange murders have occurred.

Head back out into the hallway, and Joel's bedroom door is ajar with light pouring out. Head inside and watch the news report, then witness the explosion outside of the bedroom window. Head down the stairs.

A mobile phone will start ringing in the kitchen. Pick it up and you'll see that Joel's brother Tommy is trying to call him. To your right, on the fridge, is a note you can read. Meanwhile, on your left is an office with glass doors ajar. Creep inside and you'll be reacquainted with Joel and eventually hurried into Tommy's car.

While you're in the car, you'll be effectively on rails, but you do have full control over Sarah and can look out of the back and side windows as you wish. The game will continue in this fashion for a while as you make your way into the city, before you're eventually T-boned by another car and the game fades to black.

You'll now be put in control of Joel, with your first task to hammer the square button to escape from the scrapped vehicle.

Run down the hill towards the gas station, and then take a right as it explodes down a path towards the Armadillo Theatre. Tommy will advise you take an alleyway off to the left, so follow his instructions. You'll be ambushed by an infected so get ready to tap the square button, then follow the alleyway around to the Pistol Cantina.

Inside the Pistol Cantina, Tommy will tell you that he can hold off the infected, so make your way through the broken wall and run down the muddy tracks to the army officer. Watch the cutscene, and try not to cry. The next time you take control, it'll be 20 Years Later.
