If you haven’t seen Quantic Dream’s Kara technology demonstration yet, drop everything you’re doing and watch it. While the footage is not indicative of the Heavy Rain developer’s next project, it showcases the kind of technology leaps we can expect when the title is eventually announced.
To complement yesterday's reveal, Sony has released a pretty lengthy video interview with co-founder David Cage. The chat details Kara’s origins, how Quantic Dream’s engine has evolved and where the idea for the emotional short came from.
Naturally, there’s a lot of excitement surrounding Cage and his team right now – largely because it feels like Heavy Rain’s successor is nearing. Publisher Sony’s being decidedly coy about when we can expect to see the title, but just the fact that Cage has emerged from his lengthy hiatus to speak to the press and fellow developers signals that an announcement is brewing.
We’ve always found Cage to be a fascinating character, so it’s great to see him back in the spotlight. Hopefully that full reveal is right around the corner.
