Love him or loathe him, Desmond is an important part of Assassin’s Creed lore. The modern day bartender is a conduit for the historical franchise’s time-travelling narrative, with his complex genes allowing him to experience the lives of his predecessors via the Animus.
While much of Assassin’s Creed III’s media has focused on new protagonist Connor, Ubisoft has revealed that the hotly anticipated sequel will feature Desmond in a big way. Lead writer Matt Turner revealed:
All I can say about Desmond’s story is you’re going to experience more Desmond than you’ve ever had before. We’re spending more time on the present than we have in past games.
It’s a big part of our story and I don’t really want to give too many details away because I want people to experience what that is. But rest assured, you’re going to see a lot of Desmond — more so than in any past game.
While we were initially turned off by Desmond’s tale, we’ve actually grown to love the pseudo sci-fi plot running side-by-side with Assassin’s Creed’s historical fiction. Let us know what you think about Desmond’s inclusion in the comments below.

I dont really mind the desmond story, altough I hope they make those part more interesting to play.
I haven't played any Assassin's Creed game before - the first one looked boring so I ignored all sequel news - but this one sounded really interesting. Guess I'll have to spend a lot of time reading the Assassin's Creed Wiki if I want to play this then.
