Picture the scene: you’ve just picked up Grand Theft Auto V on the PlayStation 4, and you’re ready to play – but the release’s monstrous day one patch just won’t download. This is what's happening right now, as we’ve just taken our copy of the title for a test drive, and have been confronted with an error labelled ‘CE-32937-4’. It seems that we’re not alone, either.
It’s not a particularly enormous problem – you can still get started with the single player campaign – but it does mean that Grand Theft Auto Online access is locked until the problem is fixed. This is a strange one, because the patch is there – and has been pulled down by many pre-loaders prior to release – but for some reason it just won’t download right now.
There’s no word from Rockstar about how it’s tackling this error yet, but we suspect that the studio will be spending most of its day fighting fires – after all, a separate glitch currently renders it impossible to import your multiplayer characters into the port if you haven’t logged on since 2013. Who’d launch a next-gen video game, huh?
Update: Rockstar has issued an update for this problem: "We are currently addressing this issue with a patch for PlayStation®4 and PlayStation®3 users. This patch is available for download, but may not be available in your region for the next few hours. If you attempt to download the patch and see a 'CE-32937-4' error, please attempt to download the patch again later today. Affected PlayStation®4 players can still log in to Grand Theft Auto Online but will not be able to transfer characters until the fix is in place."

As soon as I saw that patch download just prior to midnight I knew it was going to cause problems.
And as of yet I havent been able to play the game.
@KAPADO Isn't it nice when things just... work?
Lol games just can't be games these days
After the disaster that was GTA V online on PS3/360 I'm not surprised.
@get2sammyb I went to sleep and left the ps4 on,woke up and GTAV Install at 75%. It's working wonderfully.
So much for going digital
@get2sammyb HAaaa just noticed the video.
this sounds familiar..........oh yeah it happened with the first edition of the game.
It is a temporary issue, caused by the GTAO character transfer patch.

Okay, am I missing something? I pre-ordered the digital edition and downloaded both the game and the patch last night before going to bed (unfortunately before midnight). So, now, I turn the PS4 on, and am told I have to download the patch again. I get the error mentioned above, but I persist and it eventually starts. 20 mins later, patch is downloaded - great! I can start to play the game.
Only no. Now it's "Installing" and has been for nearly half an hour and is at 13%. From what I can see, this is because it has to download the other 40 or 50 GB of the game? So what's the bloody point of having a pre-order pre-loading feature, if it only downloads the first 2% and you then have to wait 3 hours for the rest to download?
It's not a massive issue, I can wait. But had I known this was how it worked, I would have started this off before I went to work this morning. It seems I stupidly thought pre-downloading the title would mean I could play immediately, rather than just save myself 2% of the initial download. More fool me...
I played a bit of the game last night till 2am and it worked fine for me. Aside from an issue where I couldn't swap characters in online and had to reopen the application, it worked great. Haven't played since like March so it's nice to see all my stuff intact. Also the new music is a very welcome addition.
Every time I get on GTA online it boots me out. I'm getting a little annoyed with it
2014, the year of unfinished games, continues.
@Bad-MuthaAdebis Ha!! lol a lot of that feeling this gen.
@Not-Another-Ad
Sadly you could see this coming. GTA V actually had online issues last year. To me, no excuse for re-releases to not have perfectly fine online on the new consoles but the excuse many people seem to use actually is 'they're getting used to new consoles.' Or the best one in the case of Halo MCC is that 'it's four games.' Unlike Halo, I got GTA V mainly for singleplayer so this won't ruin my experience but I feel bad for people who were excited about the online going to the PS4 and X1. Hopefully Rockstar fixes this quickly. I don't know if it's their problem or if maybe it's something with PSN though, all my friends bought the game for PS4 so I couldn't ask them.
@Bad-MuthaAdebis
LOL! Thankfully I'm not big into online gaming otherwise that definitely would've been me last night. The PS4 probably would've gone flying out the window followed by the game case for GTA V.
Got everything I need to get online but it just won't let me.
Pre-ordered the digital version on Sunday night around 11:00pm. No problems with the game or patch downloading. I was able to play right at midnight on the 18th but the online lobbies I get put into are either empty or have very few people. During races players slowly disappear from the race usually 1 at a time sometimes 2. not sure if this is a problem with "rockstar servers" the "PSN" or my ISP. All 3 say it's one of the others.
I had no trouble like this on the PS3 version. I've put my PS4 in DMZ on my router and it hasn't helped which leads me to believe its a rockstar server issue. Anyone else having similar experiences? Has anyone been in a full room of 30 players?
