Telltale Games’ hotly anticipated episodic Game of Thrones adaptation will remain perched on the property’s iron chair for six episodes, the developer has revealed. The first instalment – dubbed ‘Iron from Ice’ – will apparently premiere soon, with more information expected to be announced during the PlayStation Experience event in December.
We still don’t know a whole lot else about the series, but the image seems to reveal an oil painting-esque art style, which may mark a departure from the cel-shaded look of the studio's more recent releases. The title will apparently feature five playable characters from the same family, with each member’s choices having an impact on their relations.
We assume that the title will deploy on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and Vita if recent titles from the developer are any indication, but nothing's been announced at the time of typing. Are you looking forward to this series? Try to pronounce Daenerys Targaryen in the comments section below.

Wonder if it will stay close to the book/show material or go its own way. 5 characters from the same family would make me think "Stark" but it could really be anyone
@GRIFFEN14 As someone that knows absolutely nothing about the show, I'm selfishly hoping that it will stand as its own thing. That seems to have been Telltale's mantra so far, but we'll see...
@get2sammyb I could definitely see this as a standalone but unlike the walking dead, there is less room for something different in this world. Too many huge events that affect the entire land. But yea I would like it stand alone just so there's no future book spoilers as I'm not caught up yet. I trust telltale to do a good job with it.
I'm really pumped for this I just hope it doesn't have the same technical issues that TWD and The Wolf Among Us had. It probably will...
@get2sammyb shame on you. This is like saying "I've never played a GTA game or Metal Gear Solid game" By not watching the show or reading the books you are missing out my friend.
@get2sammyb How have you not watched Game of Thrones, shame on you it is easily one of the best shows on the tube.
@Jazzer94 @KAPADO I'd like to, I just don't really have time for TV. I haven't watched any of the big American shows, sadly; Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead, etc - it's all a mystery to me!
Ice ice baby.
@get2sammyb
I am the same. I know NOTHING about the show, but I want to. I just don't have HBO. So, I am also hoping for a more stand alone experience
I was just thinking today how much I hate the long wait between seasons of this show - 10 episodes then a 42 week wait is worse than the Sopranos. It doesnt help that I watchec the 1st 2 seasons just before the 3rd do I was kind of reafy for that 1st year break after 30 consecutive episodes, but now another year wait after only 10 uis killing me.
So, this didnt help. It could still be 5 or even 6 more months before its on again. Sigh.
I'm looking forward to this even though I'll wait for the inevitable retail release.
I like their games but I won't be gettin this one because I'm not a Game of Thrones fan. Hope they do a Breaking Bad game, lol that would be awesome.
@GRIFFEN14 Telltale said last year it will include characters from the start of the books but go in it's own way while mixing in events we know of.
i know telltale's games are very popular but i'm not a huge fan.
i've played the walking dead ones and the wolf among us, and while
the story telling is strong the rest can be quite tedious, i don't find
pointing and clicking at things all that exhilarating.
@get2sammyb I've watched all the seasons of "Game of Thrones" thus far and it's been excellent minus having to skip unnecessary pornographic sex scenes that we really could have done without. If you're a fan of "Lord of the Rings" or "World of Warcraft" then I'd encourage you to watch "Game of Thrones". I was a bit disappointed that TellTale didn't tie-in with the show for their "Walking Dead" game I sure do like what they've crafted and I trust them to do a game job with this "Game of Thrones" entry. I hope that instead of being a standalone that it will more like be a bridge between the show and the books. Btw, @get2sammyb instead of watching sucky American shows like "Breaking Bad" or something crappy like "American Horror Story" try to watch some of the really good epic shows such as ABC's "Once Upon A Time", "Agents of SHIELD", FOX's "Gotham" or the CW's "Supernatural", "The Vampire Diaries" and "The Flash". Right now I'm catching up on Dragon Ball and Naruto Shippuden! I'm a big manga/comic book fan.
@get2sammyb I would skip all of those shows and only watch game of thrones or read the Song of Ice and fire saga. I'm halfway through but own all the books out.
@Lionhart Really guy ??? Pornograpic?
What scene?
