A rather controversial rumour sprung up over the weekend regarding microtransactions being slipped into Diablo III courtesy of its upcoming patch, but publisher Blizzard has since quelled the unrest, at least here in the West.
The aforementioned update, which will launch in the near future, was recently datamined, and it was suggested that it would add premium payment methods to the game. It turns out, however, that this may only apply to the Asian version of the release, and the company has "no plans" to bring such an addition overseas.
What do you make of microtransactions? Would you ever make use of them to save time in a title like Diablo III? Slowly close your wallet in the comments section below.

Nope. The grind is part of the fun.
Not really sure how that'd work in Diablo. It only takes my friend and I about 45 minutes to get a character to 70. Once you craft them Aughild/Sage's stuff, they'll be pretty much good for torment 3. Getting the rest of your gear to hit torment 6 is usually pretty quick with great rifts.
Only micro transaction I could see viable is selling a Starmetal Kukuri....
The microtransactions are all about comestic changes, timed experience boost and "character slots"
So nothing that could break the game or P2W (getting to 70 its pretty fast with a friend, about an hour, about a day or 2 alone)
Doesn't surprise me that this rumor popped up. Rumors like this have been going around for years with World of Warcraft which Blizzard has said that those were just rumors, I expect the same for Diablo.
