Spaceship building simulation Kerbal Space Program will release on the PlayStation 4, it's been announced. The port was revealed at E3 2015 overnight, but there's no word on a release date just yet for the uber-popular indie. Sony will see it as another real win, however, as it continues to covet some of the biggest independently developed titles for its box.
The game originally launched on Steam Early Access all the way back in 2011, but was only released as a 'finished' product this year. Given that tidbit, we suspect that you'll be waiting a little while for this to materialise on your console – hopefully not too long, though.

This is great news!! Really want to get into this game!
I've had this on PC for a few years and played hundreds of hours of it. I'm still going to buy it on PS4 because it's so good and I've played it so much that the developers deserve to be paid twice.
Also as a side note I have to say I was a little shocked when they talked about getting people interested in space/science last night with Destiny/Bungie instead of this game which actually teaches real scientific principals and is even being used in schools.
@ohhaime I understand modding is a pretty big part of the game, hopefully the PS4 version will come with available mods?
In terms of people getting interested in space/science through games like Destiny I think it's fair enough. I love space and have a huge interest in the mercury/gemini and apollo programs as well as pretty much everything else that is going on, but I don't doubt watching films like Alien as a kid helped get me into it. Obviously I still love Scifi media that ask us the big questions like what's out there and where did we come from. So yeah I think it's pretty cool if franchises like Destiny are getting people interested, because it probably means they'll move onto things like Kerbal
I've seen Youtubers play it and it looked really fun! I'm extremely happy that it's coming to PS4!
