The secret to corporate success was simple all along: you just have to pretend to be your consumer's friend. Sony cottoned onto this at the start of the generation, making silly videos about used games and reminding us that it cares. And now Microsoft has stumbled upon the strategy, with gaffer Phil Spencer whispering sweet nothings to fans on his personal Twitter account.
But as transparent as it all is, we do rather like these paper-based goodies that the Japanese giant's emailing to people on their birthdays. Alright, this may be the lousiest gift ever, seeing as you have to print and assemble it yourself, but we were always taught that it's the thought that counts. And, to be honest, they look pretty rad when put together – below's one that someone on Reddit made earlier.
Which character from the pictured selection will you be preparing when your birthday rolls around? Send us a card in the comments section.

(Lousy birthday gifts BTW).
Giving out bday gifts in the form of your competitor's biggest IP... Now that shows confidence!
It was my birthday 3 days ago
That's interesting, I got an email last week with a code for a free PS4 theme that isn't available on the store for my birthday.
I got a Theme for ps4 + PS3 on my birthday

I feel as though a 3D Parappa is a tad blasphemous
I got nothing from Sony on my "birthday" (I made up a random date when their registration process asked for my birthday as after they got hacked a while ago I decided the less info they stored on me the less I'd have to lose when it happens again).
Where is the PS Plus brigade that always goes on about how its free so dont complain?
By that reasoning, as Im applying the thought process some have regarding the IGC, these are free, therefore you absolutely must be happy with, and like them.
Personally, I dont ask or expect anything for my birthday, so these arent a concern for me, nice gesture all the same.
This is something nice for any company to do. Nintendo used to do this back in the NES and Super NES era, and I wish they'd do it again too. It may be cheesy, but it's something free and fun for kids to do, which kids are going to be the main focus for any console (They'll be the ones playing them 20-30 years down the line).
It would still be nice to see a new Parappa The Rapper game, since they added him as a character.
All this did is make me want another parappa game lol
My birthday is today but I didn't choose anything yet
Reserving a birthday gift, it's just an amazing feeling! Many gifts like soft toys, chocolate boxes from https://www.duck-creek.com.au/, cup cakes are the gifts I would love to receive.
