Hey, it's been quite a while since we've done one of these, eh? There's a brand new update out for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on PlayStation 4, which weighs in at about 1.5GB. Good job there's a decimal point in there.
Truth be told, there's no reason to get really excited for this one - patch 1.12 is stuffed with specific fixes and not much else. When we say 'stuffed', though, we really do mean it: the patch notes are about five pages long, and cover everything from Hearts of Stone related issues to GUI tweaks. You can read the full change log through here.
Dare we ask if you're still playing The Witcher 3? How go your adventures? Feel free to tell us a tale in the comments section below.

After MGS the neverending game, this is next on my hitlist.
@themcnoisy MGS actually felt like it was never going to end. Act 2 was such a drag.
I wish they would finally fix the tremendously long loading times when loading a save on the PS4 version
I did start to get back into it for Hearts of Stone, but I just wasn't invested in it. I did almost everything there was to do in vanilla Witcher 3, and after putting so much time into it before the expansion, my interest in the game was already gone. Besides that, I've got waaayyy too many back logged games I wanna get to before the huge influx of games in February hits.
This game is soooooo last year.....lol
@stevie85 I'm 96 hours in. Only 64% through. I haven't put this much time into a game since the mass effect trilogy. 😨
I think when the second expansion hits I might go back, but after a DLC sale, maybe. I spent so much of last year on it it deserves a break. MGSV and Middle Earth are still in their wrappers for gawd's sake!
Always patching for this and that. I have not played Witcher 3 yet but have downloaded a lot of gb of patches for the game. Probably play it after I have played more of ESO and completed Dragon Age Inq.
MGS V is a game I will never complete.
This is next-ish on my to-play list... Just waiting a bit because I just came off of Dark Souls 2 then Bloodborne, so I figured I should change genres for a bit before diving into another time-sucking action rpg. Besides, I don't want to ruin the Witcher by having such a direct comparison to bloodborne
@Mega-Gazz No matter when you play Witcher, if you have already played bloodborne you will be let down. IMO the combat is just soooo wonky man, and next to the silky smooth combat of bloodborne, it is down right awful at times. Also, be ready for ALOT of repetition and a huge beatific world that feels barren and very much the same all over. It is a great game no doubt, but I could name four or five that were better this year IMO. I really believe that all the goodwill they garnered over their DRM practices and "being for the players" really helped sway the minds of voters for goty. Just my opinion of course.
Still need to finish Hearts of Stone but I'm locked into finishing the Nathan Drake Collection at the moment. The Witcher is a fantastic game but like others have said I've put so much time into it that it needs a break.
@SonyInfinity just out of curiosity which games would you name? Always looking for good suggestions on which game to play next.
@T7L3RB Probably games you have already played or considered. Fallout and Bloodborne for sure. If your into it Rockets League is always a blast. Dragon Quest Heroes was a pleasant surprise, along with Tearaway, though both are somewhat childish. If you want top notch FPS action with some right elements take and a light sprinkling of strory, then the taken king can't be overlooked. For me personally though, this year was all about Bloodborne in the first half and fallout in the second half.

@SonyInfinity
Witcher 3 > Bloodborne
It's true bud, sorry....
@SonyInfinity
Also....
Witcher 3 > Fallout 4
Yup...
Played it for 250 hours on Xbox and almost bagged the full 1000 gamerscore only missing out due to Gwent cards and losing the final horse race, not realising and not having a save to back to that pre-dated the loss!. Had such a great time that I traded it in and now have the PS4 copy just waiting for my Easter break when I fully intend to platinum that bad boy and play the DLC. I cannot wait!!
@dnky666 Prinny dood
@sub12 I feel for Bloodborne it's debatable, it's an incredible game, both deserve their many goty awards. Totally agree on Fallout though. It's good fun but it doesn't come close to the brilliance of Witcher 3.
@LieutenantFatman
Fallout 4 is a great game in its own right, and if you strongly prefer post-apocalyptic wastelands over gritty fantasy, I get that.
As far as Bloodborne and the Witcher 3, one is a methodical From Software hack n slash, the latter is a huge open world action-RPG with a strong emphasis on writing and narrative. Yeah, I get it that Bloodborne has better combat, but that's it main focus through and through......to ignore everything else in the Witcher by some people (world design, quest design, narrative, characters) is just absurd.
@sub12 I agree, it has some of the best characters, narrative and graphics I've ever seen. Absolutely deserves its 10/10 scores in my book. And I think the combat is good, it just takes a bit of getting used to.
Yep. Witcher 3 > Fallout 4
I haven't played Bloodbourne because the Souls games did nothing for me.
@SonyInfinity thanks for the recommendations! Everything is pointing at bloodborne for me at the moment, so I'll try it out next! Also even though I feel that the Witcher was better than Fallout, it was mostly because it was so different in setting to what I'm used to. It is lke an open world Monster Hunter game and I loved it for that reason
@T7L3RB Playing through Fallout again I am finding all kinds of new quests, npcs and ways to play. Such an awesome game. I just can't recommend Witcher to anyone simply because for me the time sink involved doesn't offer near enough fulfillment. Plus I felt lost in a lot of the over arching stories. Probably need to read up on all the back content and lore to better appreciate it. Really hoping NMS is awesome and I hope far cry primal is a nice change of pace.
