Fallout 4's getting some new content courtesy of update 1.4, which has just entered the beta phase on PC. Alongside a slew of bug and quest fixes, the patch will add a bunch of new items that you can build at your settlements.
These items aren't your average bits and pieces though - most of them take inspiration from the lairs of super mutants and the hideouts of raiders. In other words, you'll be able to decorate your favourite spots with meat totems, meat bags, and cages fit for human prisoners. If you're role-playing as a cannibal, we guess it could work.
The update also introduces some less gruesome items such as new paintings, signs, and - as boring as it sounds - metal and wood door variants. Still, we're not going to turn our nose up at free stuff. We assume that the patch will go live on PlayStation 4 at some point in the next couple of weeks.
Do you enjoy building settlements in Fallout 4? Do you have any cool designs to share? Go buy some wood and metal shipments in the comments section below.

Yeah I've built up pretty vast amounts of settlements and these will be welcome, it's pretty funny when I turn up to 'help' defend a settlement and there's 30 turrets plowing into half a dozen raiders armed with pool cues.
Love settlement building and I really need to build some more up instead of making huge signs at sanctuary. I do wish we had some real attacks to defend against though instead of a handful of raiders. Cannot wait for the announced dlc and I'll be having a break from the game until it drops
I still haven't started Fallout 4 yet. The whole settlement aspect doesn't really appeal to me though but as I haven't started the game, therefore not tried this aspect, I can't really criticise it.
I hope meat bags require dead bodies as material so we'll fiinally get rid of all the corpses!
@andreoni79 At the risk of sounding creepy, I hope so too!
YES!!!! as a total horror buff this is awesome news for me! i LUV THE GORE!!!!
@carlos82 I had over 30 high level super mutants attack the Castle once. It was AMAZING.
@BAMozzy Don't let that put you off, The settlements can be completely ignored, and the game is still HUGE without it. However building as addictive as hell and I think you'll wanna do it.
@PorllM Its not the settlements/building alone but a lot to do with some of the issues I had with 3. The building part though doesn't appeal at all. I really can't see the point when I could be completing a mission or side quest, exploring the world, shooting bad guys etc.
