In this industry, there are times when you have to sit back and correctly manage your expectations. As a general rule, we find that keeping our expectations low is usually the best course of action - just look at Sony's E3 2015 press conference. We were convinced that we'd be bombarded with third-party trailers and PlayStation VR, but instead, we got Final Fantasy VII Remake and Shenmue III. If that's not a win for low expectations, we don't know what is.
Yesterday, the official Bandai Namco Twitter account teased "big news" regarding the Dark Souls series. Naturally, this had people positively frothing with anticipation - some even convinced themselves that the announcement of a Dark Souls remaster was incoming. No, we're not sure how you can casually jump to that conclusion, either.
Unsurprisingly, the hate is now raining down on the publisher's aforementioned social media account after it revealed that the "big news" is, in fact, a Dark Souls III line of branded clothing. Praise the sun and all that.

I can understand why. They said big news. A Dark Souls themed clothing line is not big news.
lol, brilliant. Personally I think a clothing line is pretty cool. But I think some of the bad feeling is sort of deserved when you feel the need to announce an announcement. If you're going to do that, the actual announcement better be something pretty damn special.
I think everyone's at fault here. Bamco shouldn't be teasing "big news" because they know people will jump to outrageous conclusions. But at the same time, people - especially in this industry - are far too easily hyped up.
Can we consider a news about an alleged big news which is not a big news a worthy news?
LOL....
Seriously speaking, I would love a remaster/remake of Demon Souls... I never had a ps3 and it is the only game you can't play at least on PC....
@LieutenantFatman The only Dark Souls' s clothing line I would seriously consider is this one:

Great now all I'm going to hear about for months is that its not as good as the Dark Souls 1 clothing line ☺
Dark Souls clothing? I can't imagine anyone interested in DS branded apparel to be honest. Tight pants with inward spikes and a venomous snake for a belt, a hooded sweater with a hoodie made from an old rusty wrecking ball, hot coal socks and to top it off an actual cut off pig's head that's been rotting for weeks as a hat....
I do have an awesome slogan if they ever were to make branded clothes for business men though:
'Prepare to tie'
When any 'game' series promises 'big' news and that news turns out to be cosmetic in game options or, as in this case' something that has no impact in the game itself (even from just a purely cosmetic pov) its obviously disappointing. Something like a 'new' weapon or armour piece, quest line etc - something that actually has an impact on the game in some way is 'big' news because the game-play is why we buy the games in the first place. We certainly don't buy it because it has a 'clothing' line attached to it or some 'cosmetic only' item looks great!
I must admit, I was one of those expecting Sony's E3 2015 to be more 3rd party showcases with 'exclusive' timed content attached as well as more PSVR news/details too but can't say that a remake of FFvii (a franchise I have never liked) and a Kickstarter for one of the most overated games in history with far too many QTE's (best thing about it was Super Hang-On and Space Harrier, I believe 2 had Afterburner and Outrun - some of my favourite Arcade games from that era and more fun than Shenmue). Also the Last Guardian - a game I had no interest in when it was first announced so I kind of wished we had seen more 3rd Party games. I appreciate that for some though those announcements were big. Nothing topped Horizon's reveal for me and Uncharted 4's game-play left me stunned too - every time I have rewatched it, I see some new level of detail that amazes me...
Final Fantasy 7 remake a small announcement only that made me the most happy guy ever. And then some gameplay that made epic for me. Horizon looked like one of my most wanted games ever. Uncharted and the Last Guardian yes this was one of my best E3 ever you guys are nuts.
@Boerewors Love It!
Fashion Souls 3 and all, but I think so that is supposed to be in game
Thank god I don't care about Dark Souls, so no stress to me.
Praise the poly-cotton blend [T]/
@Frank90 I'll praise the Sun for you too...
Totally Namco's fault. They knew this would attract negative attention and get them press which would get more eyes on the clothing line. They know exactly what they're doing.
I would like a Dark Souls III t-shirt that says "PREPARE TO DIE, DEMONS!".
