Agents of Mayhem is the next game from Saints Row developer Volition – and it's got the Gearbox sense of humour, sadly. The open world adventure – teased earlier today – sees you assume the role of three different characters (got to have that hero slant), each of which seems more annoying than the last.
Don't worry, though, this isn't Battleborn – it's a single player action game, as you'd probably expect. You'll toggle between each of the protagonists in order to fend off evil forces. It appears to be connected to the Saints Row universe, too, judging by the logo behind Jessica Rabbit at the end of the trailer.
It's all CG, so there's nothing really to glean from the clip from a gameplay perspective. Well, other than the fact that the jokes stink.

Battleborn is all I could think of as well. This is a flop in the making imho
After watching that, i wont be holding my breath
@Swiket Yes.
3 playable characters
single player adventure
all CG
Having bad The Bouncer flashbacks over here.
So, the new videogame MO is to release non-game play trailers first, and then show the actual game at E3? Guess that works.
Kind of reminded me of the Disney Infinity Incredibles story line, and I don't think that's a good thing.
Remember when overwatch became fuse? This reminds me of fuse.
Looks amazing!...uh sorry,wrong video.
I cringed so much watching this. Why are saints row vigilantes now? Why is Ultor their paymasters? Why did they hire their script writers?
come on give a chance .
I like Gearbox sense of humor...in Borderlands.
But I don't know, I'll give a chance.
When did y'all get so po faced around here? This is not really my thing but no reason to be so hyper-critical and only focus on the things you don't like.
@hi_drnick
Seriously, I'm really starting to get sick of the general attitude around here these days. Not just the community either but the writers. With the King of Fighter XIV article and now this, I'm starting to see what some others have pointed out in the past. If it isn't Sony full or timed exclusive or an indie game, everything seems to get sh*t on.
Apart from 'ahoy mother f*ckers' (which was hilarious) the rest is trash.
I personally found Saints Row considerably more annoying and childish than Gearbox humour. IMO this looks much better than any of the Saints Row games, although still not totally sold on it from this trailer.
Amazing people seem so hurt by the fact that one writer at PushSquare gives anything Gearbox a hard time...adds to the character of site
thankfully it's not a MOBA...
@Gamer83 Nah, not everything. PS is generally a very balanced website but I have no problem with the writers having their own likes and dislikes (heaven forbid). All my favourite game mags from the 90s and early 00s used to do it too and that's what set them apart from each other. Too many bland websites at the moment. Go to Kotaku to see an example of it done wrong. Oh and Dualshockers. Used to like that site but stopped reading when it seemed they weren't interested in any story that didn't involve boobs.
Haha I must be in the minority here but I actually enjoyed the trailer
@SKC_Diamond me too, actually
@SegaBlueSky I think both me and @Gamer83 agree with your general sentiment. My favourite magazines growing up were ZZap64, C&VG and later on, Arcade. They all (at times) had writers that brought their own edge to the magazine (not Edge magazine). But to me there is a difference between being critical in an objective sense and just resorting to lazy hyperbole. I wasn't so much calling out Sammy as I was wondering why there is a need for a gaming community to attack something that sits outside it's demographic. At most a nothing to see here, move along type of comment would seem to suffice.

@hi_drnick Very true, I see your point! Either way no website or publication is perfect, gotta be vocal about what we like and dislike (without being dicks, obviously).
