Hidden away among the game announcements and gameplay –or, er, behind the scenes footage – EA unveiled a new scheme entitled Play to Give. During the publisher's pre-E3 2016 event, EA Play, gamers will be able to try and complete various challenges across a handful of games, earning in-game rewards in the process. For example, play Star Wars Battlefront during EA Play to participate in the 3X Score Event, which nets you thrice the rewards as you would normally. Other games involved are Battlefield 4, Battlefield Hardline, FIFA 16, Madden NFL 16, and Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes.
Taking part in these challenges translates to funds raised for five chosen charities: Code.org, CODE2040, HeforShe, National Center for Women & Information Technology, and SpecialEffect.
EA itself is donating $1 million to the causes to celebrate the initiative. A very nice idea, this - a lovely gesture from the company, and of course, from the players.
