The original Darksiders game – which first launched all the way back in 2010 – will saddle up and ride to the PlayStation 4 this year, claims Spanish site Nextn. According to the publication, the port was announced by Nordic Games at Gamepolis 2016 in Malaga this weekend. The European publisher purchased the rights to the franchise from THQ a few years back, and released a remaster of Darksiders II under the cringe-inducing title Deathinitive Edition in 2015.
While the publisher's yet to release any assets or additional information about the Darksiders re-release, American rental site Gamefly has also listed it, so this is definitely happening it seems. We rather liked the original title's blend of God of War and The Legend of Zelda, but this author was never really a fan of the burly art direction. Did you play this game on the PlayStation 3? Would you be up for a remaster? Wage war in the comments section below.

the graphics was great .I don't know what you mean by blurry.maybe it's your eyes or your television.but I love the art style graphics.it looks way better than any Zelda game.except for the windwaker.great game .great graphics.the only complaint.is the game has too many puzzles to solve.the art style is amazing.it's like I'm playing a comic book video game
@playstation1995 Burly. Everyone was massive and overly muscular - just not my cup of tea. I know other people liked it, though.
that's cool - ill get it. I think I'm one of the few that preferred this to the second one.
"the cringe-inducing title Deathinitive Edition", said the kings of puns
Thought this might happen as Nordic Games drum up funds for Darksiders 3. Love the franchise so I'll get this Day1.
For the record, 'Deathinitive Edition' is genious
Loved the first one which I must of played on the 360,the art was great and the puzzles were interesting.I won't be buying it again though.
I agree `Deathinitive Edition` IS genius never got to play it mind but hopefully we my get it on Plus one day..?
Loved this on the PS3, what a Fab game. Many people complained it was a Zelda clone, but on a system with no Zelda, what is there to complain about. A “clone game” can still be a very good game and this was! Brought the 2nd one (PS3), but never got into it like the 1st one, might pick this up if the price is right.
@get2sammyb The "burly"/"blurry" exchange made me laugh more than it probably should have. Thanks, I needed that.
Yeah, I hated the character design for the main dude. Especially... what was up with that hair? The little Play-Doh tubes coming out of each side of his neck were seriously stupid.
I enjoyed the world they created but never finished the first game. I bought the second for like $15 and never even opened it. I don't think I'll be double dipping this time around.
The only thing I didn't like about Darksiders was that toward the end of the game the combat started to get a little repetitive, with difficulty getting ramped up by having more enemies and longer battles. But I still love it and the sequel. Dying for number 3.
Definitely on my to-get-list!
I think Nordic is testing the waters with the HD remasters. Wonder who is going to do this one? Gunfire Games again perhaps?
Oh and I loved War's chaos eater, you need big muscles to wield a big sword.
I have been DYING to get my hands on this game all generation. Ever since the Wii U launched with Darksiders 2- such an amazing game. I never thought they'd port the first one over too but they are. But I'm gonna buy on PS4 also just cause the screen tearing was bad in DS2 Wii U version and I'm afraid that may happen again (turn v-sync on for the love of mercy)
YES. Nordic should have just waited to do a Darksiders remaster bundle instead of rushing out the "Deathinitive" DS2 (which didn't even run in 60fps). Hopefully this time they'll get that right with this remaster and make some significant overhauls with lighting and whatnot.
Hopefully this will do well and we'll get a third game announced, never liked it when i first played it but omce i gave it a real shot i loved it and the DS2
