And so it begins. It was only a matter of time before we started getting flooded with information regarding Destiny's upcoming September expansion, and Game Informer's got the scoop on a load of new details.
For starters, the light level cap is getting raised beyond what we had initially thought. Right now, the light level maximum sits at 335, but it's being pushed all the way to 385 once Rise of Iron hits, which is quite the jump. Apparently, the cap will go even higher - up to 400 - once the next Raid launches.
Speaking of which, Rise of Iron's Raid will be called Wrath of the Machine, and naturally, it'll offer its own unique rewards, including brand new armour sets and weapons.
Interestingly, the developer's also spilled the beans on 'ornaments', which you'll apparently be able to use in order to alter the appearance of your gear. We're not entirely sure what this means, but we assume that it'll be an expensive way to make sure that your Guardian looks exactly as you want.
How does this all sound to you? Are you hyped for Rise of Iron? Find some Raid buddies in the comments section below.

Quite excited for this. I abandoned Destiny shortly after launch, but TTK dragged me back in and has kept me busy for months and months. I hope the story and missions/strikes/raid are on the same level as that was.
Cant be doing with Destiny at all at the moment but looking forward to this, TTK was a great expansion, loving the direction of this one too.
Just give us Destiny 2 already, I'm sick of running through the same areas over and over again.
I want to be excited for this because TTK was great but I'm not sure I can be bothered with the grind and no longer have the time or inclination to spend 5 - 10 hours a weekend raiding (half spent sat in groups waiting for people). We'll see how I feel closer to release.
@Bad-MuthaAdebisi Welcome to pretty much every MMO in history.
@Bad-MuthaAdebisi I agree though it's far better then before, I remember the vanilla Destiny days where two hours grinding for one legendary shudder
I'd like to do the Raids on Destiny, but I have a low tolerance to idiots. I spent 30 mins sitting down last night because some fool insisted on killing the Warden of Oryx we needed for our quest, despite several unresponded messages and voice chat invitations to discuss sword needs and strategy.
Is it worth using Bungie's forums to find players? Do people here even still bother doing Vault of Glass, or are people mostly excited over the new stuff, then put the game back on the shelf?
@RPE83 once you find a good group that play regularly raiding can be a lot of fun I think. We managed to get together a handful of times on here and to do each of the current 3 and it was brilliant, even though @Bad-MuthaAdebisi slowed the pace right down with his platforming skills
@Bad-MuthaAdebisi I'll never let you live it down

I've rebought destiny vanilla and should still be able to download house of wolves and crota. Will pick up the taken king 👑 and get back into it, as mentioned to Kyle - most likely from mid next week after the Rocket League tournament and finishing Minecraft story mode.
@Bad-MuthaAdebisi sounds great! I've been away that long it will be like playing a whole new game.
@themcnoisy Not saying TTK is amazing, but I think you'll be impressed with the difference of the story missions in that compared to the base game.
No mention of thorn y3? That was biggest announcement imo lol.
@themcnoisy TTK is £15 in the sale at the moment btw. Not sure how much it is preowned but might be cheaper.
@kyleforrester87 thanks for the heads up. Will probably buy it for that price.
