The award-winning developer behind Journey and Flower finally appears to be ready to start talking about its next title. Despite the firm's previous foray launching almost five years ago and the original team partly disbanding, thatgamecompany has been quietly beavering away on a new game under the leadership of founder Jenova Chen. And today it's teased the first artwork from the title.
There's no name just yet, but according to a blog post on the studio's website, it'll be a release about "giving". The artwork shows a candle being lit, four children in robes holding hands, and an archway stood in front of a cloud. The developer appears to be targeting a 2017 launch, but is currently hiring. Among the open positions is a "feel engineer", who will be responsible for creating "meaningful, enriching experiences that touch and inspire players".
That'll go down well with the company's detractors, we're sure.

@get2sammyb @SkanetWasTaken Is this the first avatar quote in Push Square history?
I still need to download Journey and experience it. This has me very curious, though.
I'm sure it will be just as overrated as Journey.
I still need to play journey I shud download it from PS plus
Got bored of journey after 20 minutes, not for me. I'll probably need this game to be shipped with a sicky bag.
Interesting to note that what ThatGameCompany's twitter bio described it "a multiplayer, multiplatform game". Think what they mean is it'll be a similar MP idea as it was in Journey, and could be available for PS3, PS4 and Vita???
This is so exciting. Journey is still one of my favourite games of all time – perhaps not in terms of gameplay, but the experience I had playing it was incredibly memorable.
Looks like RIME is back! heh
Looking forward to it. The image reminds me of Flower.
lol
Feels Engineer
I ought to play Journey one day. It's on my PS4.
