PSX 2016: WipEout Finally Races onto PS4 in Omega Collection

Wow! I'm so surprised! Another HD remaster! 😑

So I said we wouldn't see WipeOut. I said we wouldn't see Shawn Layden do the T-shirt crap again. I said we wouldn't see Crash because that felt very half hearted as a reveal. I did say we'd see more Uncharted because Sony lies about ending stuff.

Why am I always wrong? sigh time for gloating. Get your shoes on @get2sammyb you can riverdance around me on January 13th because let's face it, that will suck. They'll drop out in a few years.

As long as this is VR compatible I'm in, otherwise I don't see the point.

Great news! I may finish wipeout 2048 after all!

I am surprised they re-remastered this (it was already 60fps and HD), but the inclusion of 2048 make it worthwhile and I am buying it day _

@adf86 I am positive. And when I'm positive you end up being Nintendo. When I'm negative you end up being Sony. GUess which one I'm registered to work with? I aint on the winning side.

And that experience isn't viewed as meaningful in the UK games industry, so if I need a future job...well my experience is null and void to many.

Look at it this way. I used to say Vita will be a hit. I said that about Wii U too. I didn't think any of what happened tonight, minus Uncharted because that was absolutely going to be a thing, I didn't think would happen. I also didn't think Majora's Mask would be remade. That Pokémon Sun and Moon wouldn't be good.

Basically, if I say itll happen, it wont. If I say it wont happen, it will. So Switch will be a failure. Ive said that for my careers sake. Oh and the sake of the people who will agree with that statement, cant forget them.

I'm a weirdness magnet. If you want something to happen just get me to say the opposite.

I guess this means I don't need to get HD on PS3 then. But I probably still will.

@Sakhasm Atleast it is a remaster of a good game. Not to mention that the PS4 lacked Wipeout games so this is a welcome surprise.

Maybe stop worrying so much about predicting the future, and just enjoy playing video games on whatever platforms are available at the time. And if something fails, well that's too bad, but it doesn't mean you can't keep playing games and enjoying them.

More gaming, less succeed/fail scenarios.

I think this is Sony's way of determining demand for the franchise. If it does well, they'll make an entirely new one.

I would have rather had a new one, but at least this is a nice collection. Heck, I can't even so much as get a remaster of F-Zero GX from Nintendo, so Wipeout will have to do.

@RedMageLanakyn I wouldn't rule it out, but its not likely, especially if TLOU2 is early development.

@JaxonH From a business perspective I do have to worry about what succeeds and what doesn't, its how I make a living after all, and if I'm on a failing platform well that's not good for me. On a personal level it's more like you said, but the two overlap a lot. They aren't exlcusive I'm afraid.

I think there's a difference between using cognitive oberservation to make a business decision based on your best estimation, and actually worrying about it. Whether you chose right or wrong, worrying about it isn't going to change the outcome.

More 4k remakes from ps1 era please, there's so many sony old ip that can be remade to ps4 pro with 4k and 60 fps graphics. I hope sony remake all the colony wars game, g-police, disruptor, spyro (I know its not sony ip but I still want it) and jumping flash

This will be fantastic - the Vita release of 2048 HD was astonishing and this will fill a void, of the zen variety 👌

Interested, I never got the PS3 Wipeout game (called HD?), I actually went looking for it recently in the store to see what it cost. But I'm OK with a bundle...but I do have the PSP game and the Vita game.

If the price is good, I may pick this up.
