Ugh, it's not exactly surprising, but Resident Evil 7 story spoilers are being spread around like the t-Virus right now. Spoilers are currently being coughed up around the 'net as people get their hands on early, or indeed, review copies of the game. How do we know? Well, we were unlucky enough to stumble across a rather shameless post on another gaming website - we guess that's the internet for you. Sigh.
As always with this kind of thing, we recommend caution. We know that it can be difficult sometimes - especially if the web is a big part of your day-to-day life - but before you scroll down to those YouTube comments and get an eyeful of the title's ending, just take a step back and ask yourself whether it's really worth the risk.
So, are you looking forward to playing Resi 7? Are you eager to avoid any spoilers? Stay safe in the comments section below.

still not interested, looks a good Horror game but it's no Resident Evil any more, to much changed to quickly
@FullbringIchigo Yeah, it was heading in a great direction before
Pre-ordered! And I detest pre-orders but alas I want to play it and the $48 widely available for pre-ordering nowadays (amazon, best buy) makes it a decent rational decision. I just hope it's not too much "you're powerless and being chased by monsters" which always feels like a gameplay cop-out. Give me the tools dammit, just ramp up the difficulty rather than making me helpless. Please no
@Lonejester I like how they did it in Alien. That flamethrower was a game changer.
@kyleforrester87 hey i'm not saying that is was all great before either but Resi had a style of it's own,it was like a B- Horror Movie and this game doesn't have that
this is Outlast with a Resi skin and like i said it looks good and the demo was also good but i didn't get that Resident Evil feel from it
Since I won't be getting this game until it is dirt cheap and is the full dlc included version, I don't mind the spoilers as I'll forget them by the time, years from now, I play it.
@FullbringIchigo Have to wait and see for some reviews won't we, seems a lot of it has been kept under wraps. I enjoyed RE5 (playing it right now) and 6 was not THAT bad..but it simply had to try something new.
@kyleforrester87 true but i feel that they lost a part of it's identity while doing so
@FullbringIchigo Maybe but that's inevitable since (as far as we know) it's got a whole new set of characters and story. I'm sure there will be some links (maybe Umbrella is involved?) but it's got a chance to develop its own identity now so hopefully it becomes more than just an Outlast reskin.
Personally, the more I know the better.
My enjoyment of the game doesnt rest solely on experiencing the story without knowing anything about it, so it never bothers me.
In fact in most cases, if the general story or gameplay is known to me Ill enjoy it more as Ill be expecting certain events and such.
But lets be honest, being told a spoiler isnt going to ruin something you enjoy, but at the same time, be mindful that not everyone wants to know them.
@kyleforrester87 I've avoided Alien because I was worried it'd be more of the same, albeit more polished, but maybe I'll give it a shot.
The demo didn't catch me like PT did...it's just another level of scary! Nevertheless I will probably play it when it's like 20 euros or so...
Are they still aiming for 4 million sold within the first week or whatever? Six of my good friends that are RE fanatics like me are holding out after RE6 and RER2 were both disappointing. Not a good sign considering we all used to preorder RE games without hesitation. Guess when you get burned a few times you learn to stay away from the fire!
@Lonejester That's the main reason I didn't like alien isolation and outlast. I can look around the environments and see ways to kill these things, but all I can do is hide and run? Come on now.
@RedMageLanakyn Yeah that's my experience with Outlast. Felt like a cheap way to elicit "scares." I didn't like RE6 or Revelations 2 either, but neither felt nearly as well-backed or ambitious as Biohazard. I probably shouldn't trust that it'll be good but sometimes you just have to go with your gut and hope for the best (if you like to dance in the fire that is preordering).
