Horizon: Zero Dawn is finished. Guerrilla Games' effortlessly cool boss Hermen Hulst announced that the role-playing release has gone gold on Twitter today, completing a development cycle that has stretched on for five or so years now. The press recently got an opportunity to play five hours of the title, and the feedback has been extremely positive to say the least.
Aloy's adventure will release on 28th February in North America, with the European launch following a day later. We argued that Sony may want to consider moving the game forward given the arrival of the Nintendo Switch shortly thereafter, but it looks like Sony's going to stick to its guns. Let's wait and see how things play out, shall we?

Congrats to them. I don't know what to expect, but I have a good feeling. A new first party AAA game for the PS4 is finally coming soon.
Let the spoilers begin, now how quick will it be before someone has the game early and starts talking about it all the way through till Small people release day....
Game looks great and is a true RPG. Every robot Dino is unique and a challenge judging by the game play footage. Still worries me that they are releasing it the same time as Zelda. Might cost them some publicity and hype.
Woop woop - this may be a preorder for me...
@Wonlee Yep avoiding twitter mate I don't want spoilers for Horizon or Nioh.
@SnowstormX @Wonlee Don't worry: Twitter is just politics these days. At least, my feed is.
Congrats to the team at Guerrilla Games and Sony! Can't wait to pick up my pre-order day one!
The start of a big new Sony franchise me thinks.
This game looks terrific but I'm waiting to see how it controls/plays. Looks aren't always everything.
Awesome. I can't wait.
Nice Spandau Ballet reference there.
My most anticipated release of 2017!! Its sat at the top of my 'most wanted' list since its first reveal and can't wait until March 1st!! I pre-ordered the Limited Edition as soon as it was announced - the steel book version without the statue.
I really don't think Sony are concerned by Zelda. The two games are very different. Both may be open world RPG's but that's about all they have in common. The variety in the combat alone makes this a far different game, let alone the story, the setting, etc. As far as potential sales go, you have to think that Horizon has a much bigger chance than Zelda as the install base is significantly larger. The game itself is cheaper than the Switch version too. If anything, Nintendo should be more concerned about releasing Zelda at the same time although that does have the benefit of being a well established franchise.
Personally I think this will have far more depth and variety but whether or not the Story etc can match expectation, time will tell.
This was my main reason to upgrade from a PS4 to the Pro! It looks stunning on PS4 but on the Pro, at least in the 4k video's it looks amazing. I don't have any concerns over the combat or controls as everyone who has played it says that the combat feels satisfying and weighty.
4wks and 1 day to go - at least for us in the UK....
Congrats can't wait to get my hands on it.
Is only behind Red Dead 2 as my most wanted PS4 game!
Can't wait for this game, I'll take the limited edition if the game's good
@get2sammyb
Miss the days when everybody kept their idiotic politics to themselves.
Anyway, hopefully this game turns out to be awesome. It's been high on my most-wanted list since it was announced but you always have to wonder with Guerilla. When it hits, it can hit big like Killzone 2, but when when it misses, it misses badly.
@Churchy Aw, ya beat me to it ... GOLD
@SnowstormX
I don't think it's a matter of 'might' cost Horizon hype and publicity, I think releasing around the same time as Zelda absolutely will cost it hype and publicity. It could be a great game, even average 90 on metacritic but Zelda is a juggernaut and launching with a new system is going to give that game even more hype surrounding it.
@stupidget It doesn't matter because we both have the power to know we're INDESTRUCTIBLE!
