As is tradition, Sony has revealed the PlayStation Network's most downloaded games of the last year. Topping the 2016 charts in both North America and Europe was the seemingly eternal Rocket League, which originally launched back in 2015. That's an impressive run of form from the simple but stupidly effective title.
Battlefield 1 also featured in both regions' lists, alongside Minecraft, Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, and FIFA 17. The charts have turned out to be pretty predictable, then, but there are a few interesting points to note. For starters, No Man's Sky zipped into ninth place in North America, but it didn't even make the top 20 in Europe. The opposite is true of Ratchet & Clank, which scraped nineteenth in Europe. Similarly, Ark: Survival Evolved stormed to eleventh in Europe, but didn't chart in North America. Battlefield 4 and Battlefield Hardline both made it in there as well, but it's worth pointing out that they were discounted heavily multiple times over the course of 2016.
Anyway, here are both lists for your perusal:

I downloaded skyrim and infinite warfare
Didn't buy a single full price retail game from PSN store...
The success that Rocket League has enjoyed is insane. Beating FIFA, Battlefield and CoD in both the US and Europe? That's amazing.
Also, surprised that Uncharted 4 is so low on the US list. Then again, AAA games are extortionate on the Store, so that could be a factor.
I think Rocket League is proving what a great platform PS Plus can be, there can't be any doubt that the initial buzz generated has contributed hugely to its longterm success
i bought nothing from either list. some strange discrepancies between the lists all the same.
Online i only got drqgon quest builders, i'm surprised that it's not on the list 😦
God, what a boring list of games...
Played alot of those games but didant buy any of them from the store..
Skyrim is the only one I have out of those, its the physical version though.
I bought Rise of Iron DLC and Hitman fom the store, also interesting that Overwatch is nowhere to be seen on the Euro chart
Surprised at just how well FIFA does in America! Not so surprised at the continuing success of Star Wars Battlefront. Huge player base there. But how the hell is GTA five STILL doing so ridiculously well? I thought everyone who would get it would have got it by now. Fastest selling entertainment product in history and it still made the best part of a billion dollars last year in it's online mode alone. If Sony could stump up the cash to make it exclusive, the console wars would be over. Every time I read something new about it I keep meaning to dig it out as I haven't touched it in two years
Ark: Survival Evolved did extremely well in Europe considering it only released early December! Loving it though!! No surprise to see FIFA up there but Well Done Rocket League!!
@Ralizah God, what a boring comment.
Got these from PSN that match that lists:
Uncharted 4, Witcher 3, Star Wars Battlefront, Rocket League, GTA V, Need for speed, Ratchet&Clank
Great games indeed . But only U4 I got for full psn price.
I bought 11 of the above, paid full price for a lot of them as well.
@Ralizah at least CoD isn't on top like it is every week in the physical sale's, Would CoD seem so dominate if they included digital sale's in the weekly top10 game's bought list, just show's how innacurate that list is. Need for Speed beat IW LOL in th UK, I prefer the digital list, digital weekly list from now on as well please?
I only buy psn or heavily discounted games on the store - if there is a physical release then I tend to opt for that. Only exception is vita games because physical releases are too expensive now.
@gmxs because overwatch is boring tripe. Yeah, I do wonder where rise of iron might be on the list, we'll never know.
I downloaded a few PS Plus games, PES 2017 and Rocket League.
Interesting to see No Man's Sky squeeze into the top 10 in the US but is no where to be seen on the EU PSN.
Rocket League's success is well deserved, great game, I wonder what they will do next.
