We're starting to get an inkling of just how much Sony is betting on Horizon: Zero Dawn becoming its next big thing. While we're sure that the game will be very good, you can almost feel the company trying to force its success a little bit β just look at the ridiculous array of merchandise it announced earlier in the week.
And over on its YouTube channel it's launched a full-scale two-part documentary focusing on Norwegian cosplay star Ibelinn Cosplay, in which she describes the creation of her Aloy costume and β in the episode embedded above β demonstrates how to put the darn thing on. Expect to see a lot more of these costumes popping up at conventions around the globe.

When they first showed Horizon: zero dawn, Guerrilla games released a cosplay guide, so they started promoting cosplay very early.
@rblok Yeah, they mention that in this documentary.
Cosplay Aloy as you sit and drink from your official Horizon mug and fiddle with your official Horizon figurines weeks before the game is out. Sounds like a plan.
@ShogunRok You mean you're not doing this already?
@get2sammyb I'm still cosplaying as Commander Shepard at all times, mostly because the suit is now fused to my skin.
I like my cosplay with less clothing, more skin. Any chance Aloy goes skinny dipping to cool off in the game? Bikini beach volleyball minigame?
BTW I'm not saying all cosplay needs to be all skin, Lightning has some really good ones.
They are really trying to push this thing a bit too much.
The damn game isn't even out yet.
The game is going to be a massive hit so all these bits of tat and stuff isn't really needed
@PlaytendoGuy Well if it is a massive hit, then I think they're hoping the merchandising will sell well, too.
The girl in the game trailer, does she remind anyone else of Ygritte (sp) from Game of Thrones?
RavenStarCosplay is another one who has cosplyed as Aloy too, along with a Bloodborne hunter and Yennifer from The Witcher. Both girls are reallying talented in creating these costumes.
It should be ticking my boxes, but its leaving me cold. I can't work out why. Maybe I'll love it when I play it.
@KitsuneNight the fact that this game didn't come out has nothing to do with their marketing strategy.
Hopefully this game does well or I will be adding t to my "collection" next to No Man's Sky.
@Gold_Ranger I had never thought about it but now that you mention it... they are very similar characters. They're both redheads, archers, and their clothing is similar. All we're missing is the accent.
What are they not banking on at this point? I'm half expecting official hair products and doorstoppers.
Well, no matter what Sony tries to force down my gullet, Zelda, not horizon will be my spring game
@F-racsO
I just meant it looks like her. Did use her for face capture and mo-cap?
@Gold_Ranger Oh no, I didn't mean that they used the same actress that plays Ygritte to play Aloy. I was just pointing out their similarities since you said she reminded you of Ygritte. Sorry for the confusion
Edit: Sorry, forgot to copy you.
