There are conventions for everything these days, so what made you think that Star Wars would be any different? It's been confirmed that EA Games will be in attendance at Star Wars Celebration between 13th April and 16th April, where it will "showcase the latest" from its Star Wars projects. Seeing as Star Wars Battlefront 2 is locked in for a 2017 release, it'll almost certainly be on show.
Of course, it'll be interesting to see if the publisher has anything else ready for the event: we've barely seen anything of Visceral Games' action adventure title, and we know that Respawn is working on something Star Wars related under the stewardship of God of War III director Stig Asmussen. We'd just bank on Battlefront for the time being – especially with E3 2017 right around the corner.

I don't care about Battlefront... I just want to see Amy Hennig's project.
@sketchturner
You spelt boobs wrong...
@Gold_Ranger You realize that Amy is an elderly lady right? lmao
It's an exciting time for Star Wars fans with a ome really big games in development, it could be a great year!
I've only just got round to playing Battlefront and what is there is ok but to me the game was really bland with little content though wrapped up in great art and sound design. Though the VR experience was rad.
@Rudy_Manchego totally agree about Battlefront. It was more an 'introduction' to FPS games for fans of Star Wars rather than a great FPS with a Star Wars setting.
article title is a bit misleading "Star Wars Battlefront 2 will fire first next month" then follow up with "Debut expected at Star Wars Celebration"
wouldn't "Will Star Wars Battlefront 2 fire first next month?" be better
anyway on topic like many others i'm more interested in the visceral games project over the second battlefront as it will be more of the same as the first one, although i am interested in to what eras the game will have, the original only had the OT era so it got repetitive at times so i would want the second to cover all eras Prequel, OT and Sequel (Clone Wars and Rebels would be nice too but i doubt those would be in it)
I'll buy IF there's a good single player, conquest mode (like Battlefront 2 on PS2), jedis and sith as heroes, two eras and space battles. If not, doesn't matter the graphics and sounds. I want a complete game.
If it is VR then yes.
Not in VR - then no.
(so that's a 'no' I guess)
Imagine move controllers controlling a light saber in VR.
A more expanded and deeper Battlefront and a full on VR experience then you can colour me excited.
I actually really liked the first one, just needed some more mp maps and hopefully the campaign is good and I'll be in.
Really excited for battlefront 2 they could make it so much better than 1! Pull it out the bag EA!
Hope the multiplayer party system is better.
Misleading title
