Originally released all the way back in 2006 for the PlayStation 2, Rogue Trooper is still fondly remembered by some as a solid third-person shooter. Developer Rebellion is remastering the cult classic and bringing it to PlayStation 4 on the 17th October. Hopefully the gameplay still holds together.
Judging by the graphics comparison video that we've embedded above, the studio's done a good job of polishing up the title's visuals for the current generation. Give it a watch and let us know if Rogue Trooper Redux is on your radar in the comments section below.

It was an interesting game but I think its quite dated now. I watched a video of the Redux version and thought it still looks dated and in truth I am more interested in Strange Brigade - may pick this up but not on release. October is already a bit packed for me and November is going to be expensive. I can't see me picking this up, if I do, until the new year but with AC: Origins, Evil Within 2, Destiny 2, Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus (2?? LOL), CoD:WW2, SW:BF2 (lots of '2's and no I am not planning on Knack 2 LOL), Forza 7, Uncharted: Lost Legacy and of course the XB1X, I do think this is not likely to be bought.
I know 2018 is looking great too - RDR2 (another 2), Spider-Man, maybe God of War and Far Cry 5 but we haven't got too many confirmed dated games for 2018 and I can see me having quite a few games to play anyway. As a result this is unlikely but I won't say 'never'.
This looks like the most PS2 ass TPS shooter ever.
It was pretty great back in the day, but this was a time when Red Faction was considered an amazing FPS so...
@BAMozzy don't forget Kingdom Hearts for 2018 😉
@BAMozzy Not getting a Xbox X to be fair i will never buy a Xbox. Will be getting a White Pro and trade in the original PS4. To much PS4 games i want and to nothing special that makes me want to get a Xbox rather get a Switch then with Metriod but no hurry there. 😀
Looks like you are a big shooterfan.
@ztpayne7 I hadn't, just never going to buy it!!!
@Flaming_Kaiser Would never have guessed you wouldn't buy an xbox with some of you overly bias posts! I already have a PS4 Pro and in the perfect Colour for my Audio Visual set-up! I hate White but each to their own.
Granted there are a number of 'shooters' in my 'wanted' list - just so happens that this time of year is synonymous with the big shooters releasing. I actually prefer a good action/adventure game to a 'shooter' although most of those do offer 'shooting' too. I wouldn't necessarily consider AC: O, Evil Within 2, Uncharted: Lost Legacy or RDR2 - also Days Gone (my most anticipated), Anthem to be 'shooters' - just so happens they have some shooting mechanics - even if its a bow in the case of AC: O. Did you also classify Horizon:ZD, ME:A, Fallout 4, The Witcher 3 as shooters? Metro Redux I guess is a shooter I am also looking forward too. Destiny is a 'Shooter' not that I like the Crucible (PvP) but Raiding is one of the best experiences I have had co-operatively in recent years.
I primary class myself as a gamer and want the 'best' console experience possible. Its one of the reasons I bought a Pro and the reason I am getting the X. I admit that Sea of Thieves isn't on my watch list and Crackdown 3 isn't exactly one of my priorities this holiday season. I have no interest in a PC so if I can buy a Console that offers 4k HDR and the best console experience, then I will buy it. I am certainly no 'fanboy' and favour one over the other - its purely about getting the best I can.
Agents of Mayhem is my TPS of choice this fall
Meh, looks like a good PS Plus game mind.
