Well, this is an exciting, out-of-the-blue rumour: two top PlayStation 3 titles Bayonetta and Vanquish could be coming to the PlayStation 4 this November. The pair of SEGA published Platinum Games products have been listed on website Alza as part of a purported double-pack. Seeing as both games were recently ported to the PC, it doesn’t seem out of the realm of possibility.
Of course, Bayonetta 2 would be prohibited from a compilation of this kind as that game was funded and published by Nintendo. However, the original hack-and-slasher comes highly recommended – and Shinji Mikami’s slow-mo third-person shooter is still a masterpiece in 2017. Is this a package that would tickle your fancy? As long as it runs better than the PS3 version.
Please?
Anything but that mess.
Wii U version was alright. Had neat extra content. 360 version was probably the best performing.
And hey, you guys could have had Bayonetta 2. Ya know, if anyone else, even SEGA themselves, had any faith to fund the damn thing. :/ It's a sad day when it's Nintendo stepping in.
I'm intrigued by this. Always wanted to try Vanquish. But I already own Bayonetta so a prettier version with less content wouldn't really sell me. Depends on the price. If it's £50 like the Bayonetta/Bayonetta 2 pack was then maaaybe. But that also included a new game...hmm.
Bayonetta 1 possibly, but the second entry is tied to Nintendo.
Hohohoooo I'd be up for another round of Vanquish!!!
@BLP_Software nothing can beat the PC ver at this point... in terms of definitive ver...
Whelp best they can do cus Nintendo would have to port Bayo 2 over themselves or Sega would have to hand over some $$$ for all rights to Bayonetta 2 since Sega dropped the project due to they had to restructure thier company...
Hideki Kamiya even told people to talk to Nintendo/Sega if ya want it on PS4/Xbox One.
Sorry but emulation talk is not allowed here. Thanks for understanding -Tasuki-
@Derpie1 yep, he also went further and said to go "ask Nintendo for Mario and Zelda on PS4 while you're at it", so I guess the 2nd one won't appear on non-Nintendo consoles for a loooooong time...
After playing bayonetta 2, bayonetta 1 is just an ok, 7-ish game. The colour palette is mostly brown like some fps compared to bayonetta 2 colourfull locale and the qte is weirdly placed like in the end of some hard platforming. The story is better than bayonetta 2 thought.
I'll try vanquish if it released on ps4.
Two Awesome Platinum games. I would love a sequel to Vanquish someday.
Expect a bayonetta 2 port to switch
Would love a sequel to Vanquish!
Vanquish was great. Really, really great. - havent tried Bayonetta. This is a day one for me!
@ZurapiiYohane Actually the reason it's a Wii U exclusive is because Nintendo funded the game.
@Derpie1 FYI discussion of emulation, piratecy, hacks etc and other things along those lines are not allowed here. If you wish to discuss them you will have to do so elseware. Thanks for understanding
LOVED Bayonetta on PS3, but if I was to ever play it again it would have to be on a Nintendo console in the lead up to finally playing Bayonetta 2.
Don't know too much about Vanquish.
oh yeah. that is what i can call a good news
cant wait to finally play bayonetta on ps4
i wish they will port bayonetta 2 too. good days are coming
Vanquish is the best action shooter ever created and the PC version is brilliant (4K/60fps) at € 20. If the PS4 version will be 1080/60 I'll surely buy it again.

I have read that the Bayonetta and Vanquish PC ports were really well done and fairly low priced. I played Bayonetta years ago but would like to give Vanquish a try.
Vanquish is probably one of my top five PS3 games. It always annoyed me that I was only a couple of trophies away from the platinum, time to put that right perhaps.
I tried Vanquish back on PS3 but didn't fall in love with it like the rest of the gaming world. If it does come to PS4, I'd definitely be willing to give it another go. Would be a great double pack
I loved and hated Vanquish. Very good game and fun to play. But these Challenges...grrrrr. There was only one challenge left between me and the platinum trophy, that's why I hated that game
well i have the Bayonetta double pack on the Wii U so i don't need that but Vanquish, i would be all up for
as long as i could buy it separately in some way, perhaps IF it comes out a separate version will be on PSN
@pbernoos no chance of that not when Nintendo actually funded the production of Bayonetta 2, they may have even published it but i'm not sure on that one
Bayonetta 2 wouldn't be outside the realms of possibility. It would of course be dependent on the terms of the agreement with Nintendo but if Platinum own the code etc they 'could' bring it out in the future - especially as the WiiU is essentially finished its life cycle now. It wouldn't be the first time a game had a 'generation' exclusivity.
It does seem unlikely though.
@BAMozzy @FullbringIchigo Nintendo paid for development and the publishing rights. Basically means Bayonetta 2 is a Nintendo game.
Let's hope so! Would love to play these again.
Vanquish was one of my top 5 games on the PS3 so more than welcome
I'd certainly get it, Bayonetta was awesome on Wii U and I'd love to try Vanquish as I've heard loads of good things about it
@Frank90 so was Resident Evil 4 at one point
@BLP_Software Paying for development and especially publishing is no guarantee either. It really depends on the terms of that agreement. Obviously Nintendo don't own the licence but we don't know whether Nintendo paid for full exclusivity regardless or they could of paid for 'generational' exclusivity. MS Published Rise of the Tomb Raider and will publish PUBG. They have also 'helped' with the development of PUBG yet that too could come to PS4 at some point.
Unless you know exactly what the terms of the agreement was with Nintendo, it could still come to other devices in the future. It maybe unlikely this gen but I doubt Nintendo own the licence or the 'code' and it maybe locked behind a generation exclusive or timed deal.
@BAMozzy I am thinking that maybe Bayonetta 2 might have some deal like GoldenEye on the N64 has. Where as Nintendo didn't make the game they just published it, yet as everyone knows Nintendo still holds the rights to it. I guess that sure it could come to other consoles as is evident by GoldenEye at one point almost coming to the XBLA but that would depend on if Nintendo could agree with Sony/MS.
Now i have to beg Nintendo if we can have a port im not gonna buy a Switch for 1 game. Or maybe when Metriod is just as awsome as the SNES version.
@SMKpaladin I loved the game but i did not even try the challenges i think it would ruin the good experience im just old for that stuff. 😀 😁 😋
Both great games. I own them both so I will pass.
@Flaming_Kaiser I'm old too. Maaaaaaaybe that's the reason I wasn't able to complete the last challenge.
@Tasuki Goldeneye was a lot more complex than that. It also depended on who owned the Licence for James Bond which is why Rare or Nintendo too can't use it anymore. Activision acquired the licence. The reason that Rare can't use things like DK64 or Diddy Kong racing for example was because of the characters and who owned those. Even though Rare owns Conker and created some of the characters we saw in those.
No doubt Nintendo have some agreement with Platinum Games but they obviously don't hold the Bayonetta license and I doubt they own the code for that game. Whilst they may have helped financially and published it, I would imagine that there would be some clause involved - like a time limit or console generation limit. By generation, I mean that whilst a console is still in circulation and the game can still be purchased to play on it as sometimes generations can cross over - like we have seen with the PS3/XB360 and then launch of the PS4/XB1 during the WiiU's life span.
It doesn't serve Nintendo or Platinum games to hold the rights indefinitely. Nintendo can't use the licence/code etc without Platinum Games agreeing and obviously Platinum Games can't release the game on other formats without Nintendo agreeing. So no doubt some 'clause' or agreement would be in play - whether its a fixed time (5yrs, 10yrs...) or situation (the end of the WiiU's cycle, 1 yr later...). In either case, that would benefit both parties - Nintendo get the guarantee that the game remains an Exclusive for the entire lifecycle of its console and Platinum Games can then release - although would probably need a remaster and maybe even make a sequel to follow on. A bit tricky to make '3' when only a few ever played '2' - After all Bayonetta is a character and not a world/universe like Fallout for example where the games have a different protagonist.
