As reports had more or less already revealed, BioWare’s ambitious ANTHEM has been delayed until early 2019, with a new Battlefield game taking its Fall 2018 spot. There’s no further information on that Battlefield game, but you can probably expect guns, explosions, and collapsing buildings. It's due out in October.
As for ANTHEM, executive Blake Jorgensen told the Wall Street Journal that this is not a delay – despite, y’know, the title literally being announced for Fall 2018 at E3 last year. “People are trying to create a story,” he said. Sure, Jan.gif.
The word on the street is that BioWare’s betting the bank on ANTHEM, so we wish it luck as it polishes up the project. In other unrelated news, the recently acquired Respawn Entertainment’s in-development Star Wars title is pegged to release sometime between April 2019 and March 2020.

Sure, Jan? You should use that gif.
I don't understand why people are so excited for Anthem, especially after what happened with Mass Effect: Andromeda.
That's what they'll say about Respawn too. ''We didn't close the studio, people are trying to create a story.''
@PS_Nation Thanks for including the .gif for people who didn't get the reference!
EA is reeling.
@PS_Nation i know right.national anthem will not be amazing.metro exodus looks better.word up son
Not fussed on anthem tbh... Battlefield though, I'll give that a go!
Soooooo hoping for bad company 3 but it won't be that...BF world war 2 would be ok but I'd prefer something more modern but not actually modern day, so after 1945 upto 2000 would be great, thank you dice.
I haven't really looked at this game at all, which probably says how excited I am. I dunno, maybe things will pick up when there's more on it.
You could argue BioWare have been on a slide before Andromeda, possibly since Mass Effect 3 (I'm sure we all remember that storm), so hopefully this turns out well for them, but it's best to temper expectations.
I hate this kind of announcement: Oh guys btw lol a new battlefield comes out in october ok? Lol
At least show a f******* trailer or image -.-
Just gives me more time to play Monster Hunter.
They better hope Cyberpunk 2077 doesn't launch anywhere near Anthem.
I wonder if it'll be as good as battlefront 2. 😉
Please don’t buy an EA game until they show that they respect their consumers.
BioWare haven't made a good game since 2007. I doubt Anthem will change that, it looks remarkably dull.
EA is dead to me.
The serial killer of the gaming industry needs a lethal injection so they'll be dead to everyone else at well.
@get2sammy This gif is so epic. xD
They delayed it because they are waiting in order for the buying from Microsoft finishes so they can make it an exlusive
Partridge. Now that's a gif.
I guess they need time to separate the dlc portions of the game and implement lootboxes.
As good as anthem looked like. I won’t take the bait until I see reviews.
@NintendoFan4Lyf I read an article in Game Informer a while back that was all about Bioware's history and it's founding members. It gave me tons of respect for the people behind the games. And I don't even play Bioware's games!
But after being acquired by EA, it really seems like the quality suffered and now they're doing a totally stupid and blatantly obvious clone of Destiny that only serves as a vehicle for MTX. Very unfortunate.
After the dreadful year EA had last year I'm steering clear until they sort themselves out.
Sort of interested in Anthem, although I'm strongly biased towards anything sci-fi. I will always prefer that over Fantasy. I just haven't seen enough gameplay of Anthem to really make up my mind.
I did enjoy Andromeda, so my opinion of BioWare is not as harsh as the average person's. The worst game they made was Mass Effect 2. If I could get over disliking the company over that horrible game, maybe people will be able to get over not liking Andromeda. Who knows.
Goodbye Bioware because if they've pushed it back for 2019 it's either good or bad 1) good to be more polished and to include more content than we thought due to EA interfering and wanting MTs in games. 2) Bad that EA really don't see this game making it and because it's halfway through would be a loss in resource to bin it, so release it anyway make what ever they can and to get more revenue slam a BF game in its original slot to compete with probably another COD game as Anthem wouldn't make money BF does against CoD
so an extra six months to re-engineer a progression system that doesn't involve buying lootboxes whilst at the same time creating a monetisation scheme of FUT proportions. good luck with that. what was shown at E3 looked impressive from a visual perspective, but the gameplay looked neither great or terrible. can't really tell if it's primary focus is as a shooter.. that's not really a forte of bioware's. the shooting was functional in mass effect but not much more. i've only played ME2 (great), ME:3 (good with a crap ending), and a few hours of ME:A (terrible) from bioware.. so it's been on a steady downward spiral afaic, which surely not all can be pinned on EA.
as for battlefield, i'd love a bad company 3, but i have doubts whether dice can recapture what made BC1/2 so great.. imo, they had a totally different feel and dynamic from the inferior (imo) BF games (BF3, BF4, hardline and BF1) that have followed. BF4 is the only one i have some appreciation for since BFBC2.
Game delayed, cue shocked face... -_-
What is a overwatch boosting add doing on this site....
