AO Tennis is out in Australia, meaning that the PlayStation 4 has finally served up some digital tennis. Early indications are that it isn’t great, however, which is perhaps evidenced by its limited release. The good news is that there’s still Tennis World Tour to look forward to, although that hasn’t exactly dazzled either.
This latest video shows how developer Breakpoint worked with former pro Maxime Teixeira in order to motion capture real moves. Our concern here is that there’s a chance every player may end up with the same movements, and that doesn’t really reflect the real sport. Moreover, in the gameplay snippets, it doesn’t really look like the racquet ever properly connects with the ball.
Perhaps we’re being nit-picky – particularly when the title’s still several months away. We desperately want this to be good, though, so here’s hoping all the hard work pays off.

Fingers crossed for this one. I wish it were easy to make a decent tennis game, but so many developers have proven that it's not. I shall remain
optimistically hopeful in the meantime.
*New fuzzy yellow balls, please
Think I still with Mario Tennis Aces on the Switch when that releases.
