Just when you think your wallet is safe, Sony bursts through the door with another swathe of offers. This time around, the North American PS Store is playing host to the Mid-Year Sale, where you can get some pretty hefty savings on a ridiculous number of titles across PS4, PSVR, PS3, and Vita.
With literally hundreds of games going cheap, the range on offer is incredibly broad; games like Assassin's Creed Origins, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, and Far Cry 5 are joined by Owlboy, Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime, and Inside. It's well worth checking out the full rundown on the PlayStation Blog, as odds are you'll be interested in at least a few of the games included. The sale ends on 17th July.
Not to be left out, Europe is also getting a new Double Discounts offer today. This means that PlayStation Plus members get, well, double the discount on the included games. There are far fewer games included here, but there are still some titles worth looking at, such as Onrush, Hitman, Persona 5, and Kingdom Come: Deliverance. This sale ends on 25th July, and again, be sure to check out the PlayStation Blog post for the full list.
Will you be picking anything up in either of these sales? Let us know in the comments section below.

Andromeda for £5.39 is tempting but going by other accounts seems to be 5.39 too expensive. Disappointing sale in Europe for vita owners. My wishlist remains untouched. Hopefully Sony are planning a big summer sale again this year
Andromeda is really tempting, but is it worth my time... ?
The European sale is meh.
Oh for god's sake!
My wallet is never safe. Playstation of Europe sales are every day of the week.
@Fight_Teza_Fight @Rob_230 Its not worth it. Horrendous game on every level. A complete waste of time.
But now that I think about it, for £5 its worth playing just so you can see how bad it is.
I really wish they would list PSVR games in their own section. They gave 2 PSP games their own section at the end, they couldn't list a few PSVR games next to each other? There are 264 PS4 games - I checked yesterday - that's a lot to go through looking for PSVR games.
I'll probably get PSVR Worlds for $5.24. I keep waiting for it to show up on PS+ but with the long 5 day weekend my family can enjoy living in PSVR, less sunburn than the beach.
@themcnoisy @LaNooch1978 Not played any of the Mass Effect games before so I don’t really have a reference point.
It’s dead cheap, but I’m wondering whether or not it’s worth investing 20-30 hours into a potentially average game.
I’ll probably get it, just to see what the fuss was all about.
Leaning towards the Prey/Dishonored 2 combo... $25 is so tempting. Anyone recommend these games to push me over the edge to buying them?
Maybe Nioh.
I found funny how they bundled Doom and Wolf 2 and they are way cheaper than any of those individually on Switch. Same with De Blob and even Inside.
I want owlboy and skyrim, but I can't keep buying games and shoving them on "play later" directory lol
I think I'll finish my backlog first, still playing gravity rush 2 for dusty token.
@LaNooch1978 obviously everyone has different opinions. My opinion having pre ordered the game is the game is an absolute joke. EA have basically spat in the face of ME fans. There is not one shred of commonality between Andromeda and the amazing initial trilogy. Who asked for a semi openworld crap fest which is what Andromeda is?
There are those whom will enjoy Andromeda for sure. But those people as a guess would be shooter fans and even that is done better elsewhere.
@LaNooch1978 I would rather have the pie and pint. I hated it. One of the most disappointing games I will ever play. I would rather put the fiver saved towards a better game warranting the money even if its way more expensive.
It is a divisive game though.
750 games on sale and the Kingdom Hearts collection isn't one of them
Final Fantasy VII is $7.99! I have never played it, and seeing as how we won't be getting the remake until probably 2020, I might as well get this now.
It’s choice overload, pure and simple. So many games on sale, I have no idea where to invest my savings.
@Fight_Teza_Fight I personally really loved Mass Effect Andromeda, but only after the sluggish intro mission (which I hated so much that I put the game away for months). As a Mass Effect game, I’d say it has an interesting but poorly told story, and some of the least interesting companions in the series, but hands down some of the best third-person combat I’ve played any time recently IMHO (despite sacrificing the more tactical but clunky battles of the past).
But yeah...some of the plot points are bafflingly bad (i.e. the first planetfall sequence with no one wearing seatbelts and just standing up amongst loose cargo during a lighting storm...smh), so prepare for that. Better to think of it as campy sci-fi and don’t take it super seriously! But more than worth the sale price IMHO.
All these games on sale and NO fighting games except Samurai Shodown VI! Booooo! Well, at least I know Tekken 7 is going on sale in the next few weeks due to the PSN Store temporarily showing the wrong banner graphic last week.
Amazing sale, I’m thinking about A Hat in Time. Also, there are so many games.
I bought Andromeda for £6:50 in the previous sale and you know what? - I really enjoyed it. After a while, when it starts to get going, it really does feel like a Mass Effect game. Plus the combat is pure fun. Buy it now, people!
@smelly_jr I'll keep that in mind, thanks! Picked it up. Just need to find the time to play it!
