Remember The Quiet Man? It made its debut during Square Enix's E3 2018 showcase, before disappearing into obscurity. The developer recently live streamed the beginning of this unusual adventure game, and it's now on YouTube for all to see.
In the above 40-odd minutes of footage, you can see the game attempting to merge realistic game models with FMV cutscenes, and it's an illusion it kind of pulls off, but the gameplay looks quite rough, with some questionable animation on show. It's still in development, of course, but at the moment, it's not looking particularly enthralling.
There's every chance that can change, though, and the premise is interesting. For now, we'll just hang a big question mark above this one, as we're not too sure just yet. What do you make of The Quiet Man? Don't keep too quiet in the comments below.

I like the live-action cutscenes. It's something that games haven't seen a lot of in a long time.
But the gameplay itself? It looks... not very good. The animations look off. And I keep comparing it to the Yakuza series considering this also seems to have "special attacks" in the same vein as heat actions. But again, doesn't look as good.
Oh man, this game needs a lot of work. I don’t want to be too critical because it is early in development (or at least I hope it’s early) but it looks boring, concepts and art direction looks uninspired, gameplay looks rough, and the acting is pretty B-grade. Eeesch.
Well... Animations should obviously be smoother but otherwise looks ok. Not sure if video footage is justified or needed at this time though. Could work still. We'll see.
Hopefully the final product looks alot better than what is being shown here...
