Just a quick update for those cautious of jumping into the ANTHEM public demo: it actually seems to be working quite well. There were reasonable fears that the demo would crumble as soon as it launched -- much like the VIP outing last weekend -- but it looks like connection errors are being kept to a minimum on PlayStation 4.
That's the case right now, at least. Anything could change over the course of the weekend, but if you're interested in trying ANTHEM out, there's currently no reason to fear endless load times and unresponsive menu screens.
Let's just hope that it remains this stable over the course of the next couple of days, and that this article hasn't jinxed it.

Yeah, until I get off and try and hope on.
Have played for 4 hours straight. Haven't had one issue at all. Some frame rate stutters very infrequently but haven't had any connection problems. Damn this game is fun!!
@redd214 Yeah, I had a few frame rate stutters but other than that it ran fine. The demo is such a tease I'm so ready to have a long play session with it. I can't wait for the 22nd.
The trophies have been leaked as well for anyone interested, they all seem very achievable on your own as well, for people who don't like multiplayer trophies.
The more I play it, the more I want to explore the world and story. Day off work booked for release weekend and cannot wait!
Yep the loading screen bug is fixed everything works great now bring on the full game on the 22nd feb , full launch will be epic preordered the legion of dawn edition on ps4 πππ
@Cordeceps Looks very doable, thanks for the info!
@redd214 No problem.
I keep getting kicked mid freeroam. It just looks back to the intro screen. Hopefully I'm in the minority.
It's better but me and my friends have been disconnected a couple times, my character lags out every now and again and there was a real weird glitch where alot of sound stopped working in the game, party chat and the console in general and I could hear white noise which I thought was a problem with my headset but turns it wasn't as it fixed itself when I closed the demo.
I played a little until my power flickered off for some weird reason. Seems like it could be fun, i just had no clue what i was doing. Im not one for hand holding, but i really have no idea what was going on. So i just started shooting stuff.
I thought they've fixed it? Not leveling up forever at level 10, and it tells me I've unlocked a new Javelin the only problem is you don't unlock javelins at level 2 where it shows me as level 0. Enemies vanishing & it's very unstable, all the Demo has shown me there is no way in the world this game will be ready by 22nd Feb.
I had a quick go this morning. It ran fine but didn't overall grab me. Maybe it's just me being stupid but I couldn't find in the options what the controls were so it was about half an hour before I accidentally worked out how to fly. It took a while to realise I had to pick up stuff from killed enemies to get my health back too.
Maybe it's being thrown in part way into the game without really understanding whats going on or why you are fighting that makes it hard to get into. After my second death I called it a day and went back to Raccoon City.
Still the mechanics seemed sound enough, I could feel the Mass Effect dna in the sound and gameplay so I can understand why many would enjoy it. Especially if you have a group of friends who will also play it.
I hope it does well enough for those who enjoy it that EA doesn't destroy another studio.
Downloaded it and with in 5 mins or made my PS4 fans kick in to overdrive and then k got in to a mission with ransoms and it then quit went somewhere else. I got frame rate issues with sluggishness and found what I played ok but this is for players who know they have friends to play with. Like I play destiny 2 from time to time all my friends don't play it so id end up playing solo mostly like I've been doing with ghost recon Wildlands
@BearsEatBeets itβs honestly like many demos where you are thrown in somewhere in the middle and have to figure a lot out without a tutorial.
The final game will of course start with a tutorial
@Nakatomi_Uk actually ANTHEM is far more solo player friendly? Because everything has matchmaking. So you will have more opportunity to do things without friends than you got in destiny.
One of the reasons I am dropping destiny for anthem
@tatsumi Don't get me wrong it seems to have better matchmaking than Destiny 2 but I would prefer to play this game with all 4 different javelin's which would be cool. I doike the concept of Anthem probably get it when it's on sale still currently playing Spiderman and a few backlog games.
I went back on Anthem for a bit longer and I can seriously feel the jump mech from ME Andromeda, combat in a small way reminds me of ME3/A online mode. Took me 15 mins first time to figure out how to fly the damn thing R3 is a weird button to use
