Ukranian-Maltese developer 4A Games is working on a new Metro title, publisher THQ Nordic has confirmed. Prior to this confirmation, all we knew was that the studio had an "undisclosed AAA project" on its hands. Makes sense, we suppose.
Following on from the somewhat divisive Metro: Exodus, which launched earlier this year, it'll be interesting to see what direction 4A Games takes the post-apocalyptic series. It'll probably be a while before we get any additional details, though.

@swagbag713 give the first one a go.. Should be relatively cheap now.. Good story, good combat.. And a decent challenge too, if you want it. Highly recommend at the now reduced rates its available at.
The first two were excellent, but haven't tried out the new one yet. Terms like 'open world' and 'crafting' tend to scare me a bit nowadays.
@swagbag713 yeah they are definitely worth playing.
It hasn't taken long for them to move onto game 4.
The first two were great games, third one was a bit meh. It’s not a bad game by any stretch but I just got bored by the end.
Great news! Probably with RayTracing on PS5
Exodus was the Best story driven FPS I played in ages. Have the Season Pass also, cant wait for the new story missions.
@ShaiHulud Not really 100% open world. You have a decent size map as part of the story. You do what needs to be done there and move on in the train. Not a big massive open world.
More like the 3 Atlantis DLC for AC. They connected in the story but not one big map.
And if the story calls for linear gameplay like old Metro games - that is what you get. You literally just follow the General in one scripted part of the game.
Crafting is also not that different - You can just now do it in the field instead of having to use a METRO work bench.
@Agramonte Sounds like ME:A to me so it's not a big deal to me, just bought the first two and am going to play them soon so I'm sure I'll get the third one as well sometime in the future.
@Agramonte Thanks for the info. I don't play AC but I think I get what you mean about the open world. Completely forgot the first games had some sort of crafting as well!
I guess it's just that these elements are so overdone nowadays, but as I said I enjoyed the first two games, and with your reassurance I might give the third one a go as well at a later date.
wasn't exodus supposed to have two fairly big story expanisons as part of the season pass dlc, neither of which has been released yet?. you'd imagine they'd focus on that first before announcing another in the series.
@Boucho11 I've heard the 3rd one runs terrible on the base ps4, is this true?
@East76landS I’m not sure. I have a ps pro. I never really encountered any issues but it just wasn’t a great game.
I really enjoyed Exodus. I finished 2033 the other day and loved it. Last Light is a step up on it. Overall the three games are excellent and the guns are a blast to use. The controls might feel a bit sluggish to start. Exodus at release had terrible freezing issues and the frame rate was choppy. I haven’t played it for three months so perhaps the bugs were patched.
Exodus looks and plays well on my Pro and 1080p combo. Halfway through on version 1.04, disc copy, and i have not experienced bugs or crashing. The frame rates have been stable.
My only dislike is that motion blur can only be set low and not off, but settings on my tv provide for more reduction in blur.
The first 2 Metro games played and looked well on my regular PS4. Those 2 games are currently very cheap in the PSN summer sale.
