Update: Well, that didn't go exactly as planned. The Yakuza Remastered Collection has been officially announced, but it's not really a collection -- at least not yet. Yakuza 3, Yakuza 4, and Yakuza 5 are all coming West, but they're being released separately. The bright side is that Yakuza 3 is supposed to be out later today on the PlayStation Store.
And yes, if you buy The Yakuza Remastered Collection (it's £49.99/$59.99) on the PlayStation Store, you get all three games -- just not right away.
Yakuza 4 will be released on the 29th October, and Yakuza 5 will launch in February 2020. All three games are remastered at 1080p, and will run at 60 frames per second.
SEGA says that a physical edition of the complete Yakuza Remastered Collection will be made available when Yakuza 5 Remastered hits in February 2020. Apparently, SEGA is even considering bundling every Yakuza game into one package at some point, although there are no further details on that.
Original story: Great news for Yakuza fans: it's looking like SEGA is about to announce something called Yakuza Remastered Collection. We assume that it'll include the PlayStation 4 remasters of Yakuza 3, Yakuza 4, and Yakuza 5. The collection has been outed on the US PlayStation Store, which currently lists it as an upcoming release.
Hopefully this all turns out to be accurate, because we'd much rather get all three Yakuza titles bundled into one collection, rather than having to wait for each game to be released separately.
We'll update this article as soon as SEGA makes an official announcement.

So glad SEGA's bundling these together.
So will the PS4 now have every Yakuza apart from Dead Souls and the feudal games?
Yes got my wish i know what i'll be playing this winter. I'll start with 0 and work my way towards 6 and judgement.
This is going to be amazing, can’t wait for the official announcement.
@get2sammyb Yes. Yakuza 0, Kiwami, Kiwami 2, Yakuza 3, 4, 5, 6. That's the whole Kiryu storyline on PS4.
I am very happy about this. I finally decided to try the series last December and was blown away by how great Yakuza 0 is. Now I can’t wait to play the whole story on PS4.
YEEEES, ******* FINALLY!! THAT'S RAD!!
I feel better now. Thank you Sega for for finally going ahead with this.
YES! Just the news I was hoping for.
This really made my day, now I don’t need to get PS Now lol
Yes please. Now I can have the full set on one console and not split between PS4 and PS5. (Because I still purchase physical, because I'm an old dinosaur.)
There's more Yakuza than I have time to play... And I would've preferred them to wait until PS5 and release proper Kiwami releases
That would be amazing and it'd save a lot of hassle. If this is true and I get this collection, it will mean I have every Yakuza game, including Judgement on PS4. What's even more scary is I haven't played one of them yet apart from a half hour on Zero. 🤯
I don't see this listed anywhere on the US playstation store. I looked first at coming soon, then I also manually searched on the store.Perhaps the listing was taken down?
Do any yakuza games have english voice over?
I'll be able to start kiwami 2 if these are 9n the way soonish 😁
I am going to take a month to play all the games from 0 to 6 to celebrate Kazuma Kiryu
Then wait for the new Yakuza.
@Ps4_all_the_way While its nice and coveniant to have them on ps4,and yes im buying it digitally, dont expect them to look anywhere near as good as the current yakuzas on ps4. How do I know this? Ive played the demo for yakuza 3 remastered on the HK store. While they look better than the yakuzas on ps3,they are improved slightly graphics wise.
If I remember correctly, part 3 was less than 16 gb on the HK ps4 version. So expect all 3 to fit on 1 blu ray.
Now watch them release this the same week as Shenmue 3 to make me angry, lol.
@hulkie
That's disappointing. So these aren't rebuilds they are more like ports with a lick of paint. That would explain why the 3 games will be bundled together. I buy physical as much as possible so I hope they get a physical release or is that wishful thinking?
If prefer them be separated and physical rather than together but digital only.
@get2sammyb any reason why you want dead souls lol nice idea but gunplay has been yakuzas weakest aspect. Saying that any game with akiyama does deserve to be upgraded. He shouldve taken over kiryu
Get in! Currently playing Zero and having an absolute blast. Ridiculous amount of content and one of the funniest games I've ever played. Quite rare, a game that makes me laugh out loud. More of this please!
I own yakuza 3, 4 and 5 on ps3 already but if it releases physically I’ll rebuy it just to own a physical copy of 5.
I know this is wishful thinking on my part. But imagine for a moment, that this release mimics last nights phantom release of Erica on ps4,and shows up tonight outta nowhere on the ps store for download !!!!
One day I will play through this series, I swear it on my oyabun's grave. I bought the original on PS2 and but didn't quite get to the end for some reason. Since then the series has sort of been standing there always in my peripheral vision but never the thing I'm focused on. But one day, one day...
@ellsworth004 yakuza 1 on ps2 has english voice acting. Mark hamill plays majima. It’s not a bad dub but it was too expensive to keep dubbing the games according to sega.
@Kidfried I’m currently playing 3 on ps3, get this, it’s worth it!
Really glad the games are bundled together.
Ok i'll go buy it tonight Sweet!
@hulkie they did just that only 3 though!
UPDATED. GAMES ARE NOT BUNDLED TOGETHER. I REPEAT. NOT BUNDLED TOGETHER. (Although you do only have to pay once.)
@ShogunRok FOR GOD’S SAKE YOU GUYS, I WAS EXCITED
@ShogunRok Well guess I have no excuse now to finish Yakuza 0. 😂
Well, that was a plot twist.
I might get that physical collection. I did buy 0 and Kiwami 2 but I haven't even opened them yet because I've been busy with Horizon.
@ShogunRok I did find the collection listing on ps store usa . So what is this yakuza 3 by itself? Could the collection come next week? Not buying 3 by itself, till I hear confirmation from sega that no collection coming soon.
Well so much for my winter plans maybe i'll play through the series next summer when every thing is released
@ShogunRok Well that's annoying. Although I have just read that they are still planning on doing a collection sometime after February. Will probably wait for that.
@ShogunRok I think you misunderstood, according to the greek ps store, its a collection of all 3. Part 3 is out now,you pay for all 3 at 59,99 euro, and then when 4 and 5 are released you don't pay.
@hulkie It's technically titled "The Yakuza Remastered Collection", but it's actually three separate games, all being released at different times. Yakuza 3 is out now, Yakuza 4 later this year, and Yakuza 5 in 2020.
@hulkie Sorry, yeah, I've updated the article again to make that clear. You just buy the collection and you get all the games once they're released.
Il hold out til February for the physical. Got judgement, kiwami 1+2 and zero if I need to scratch my yakuza itch
Great news.
Interested in physical bundle
What arcade games do these ones have in them?
I'll probably wait until the physical is out lol. I've waited this long to play 3-5, I can wait a while longer.
Besides, I still have Kiwami 2 and Judgment to play
@ShogunRok In a way youre right. But look at it this way,in febuary all 3 will be in 1 folder on your ps4. It may not be technically a collection now,but come febuary it is.
Updated again just to make everything clearer.
@ellsworth004 The original Yakuza on PS2 does. It's . . . not great. Some of the voice cast (e.g. Mark Hamill as Majima) did the best they could with the script they were given and the voice direction (or lack thereof) they got.
I still have all 3 on PS3, I never did complete 5 though.
Great news. With this announcement, I really ought to get started on this series sooner rather than later.
@Stocksy 3 & 4 have 2 different versions of a fictional shooter called Boxcelios (the Japanese PS3 originals also had a trivia game called Answer x Answer which was never localised and left out of the PS4 ports). 5 has a rhythm game called Taiko no Tatsujin and Virtua Fighter 2 iirc.
@ShogunRok It's not on the NA PS Store yet.
physical edition includes a PS3 case for Yakuza 5...lol..so weird to release it now five years later
Awesome. Ill wait for the physical collection of 3, 4 and 5 in that case. Amazing news
@ellsworth004 Judgment wich is kind of a yakuza spin off (You don't need to have played any yakuza at all to play this one) does and it is a very good one
Great news...but I still haven't started Yakuza Zero or Kiwami yet..
So happy this series has made the break through it needed.
Very happy about this, though I would appreciate a release window for an entire kiryu saga boxset before I double dip, but hey, take my money, I'm supporting these localizations all of the way.
Now we only need the feudal Japan titles, a remaster of the psp spin off and an anime adaptation and I'm in Yakuza heaven
Well that's a nice surprise!
This actually made me hyped to buy Yakuza 2 x)
Yeessss! Happy person right here! I was fairly certain the remasters would come West eventually but having loved 0, Kiwami, & K2 I couldn't wait when I saw 4, 5, and Dead Souls for PS3 in one of PSNs many sales for under £12 total (I'd grabbed an old disc of 3) so I could play through the story in order. At least by the time the last of the 'Collection' is released next year I'll be ready to start at 0 and play them all through again in glorious PS4ness 😁
@Ps4_all_the_way and from what i remember the ps3 version already ran at 1080p so really you are only getting a framerate boost and that's it really, the collection is not worth the £50 asking price especially when you can't play all of them together yet, waiting for the physical collection is a better option imo it may even work out cheaper waiting for the whole package.
Yes!! I'll be getting the physical edition on day one!
I've been interested in jumping into this series. But it's confusing as to which order. I imagine Yakuza O first, but where is Yakuza 1 and 2? What is Yakuza Kiwami in the timeline? Or is Kiwami a separate story?
cool. i have them all on ps3 so it is hard for me to justify getting this... but since it is getting a physical release, i might consider it at the $30 price point.
@DigiTM Kiwami is a remake of the first Yakuza. Kiwami 2 is a remake of the second Yakuza. So basically, the timeline goes like this:
Yakuza 0, Kiwami, Kiwami 2, Yakuza 3, 4, 5, 6.
Chronologically, Judgment takes place after Yakuza 6, but it's a completely different story, so you can play that anytime.
Technically, every Yakuza game has its own standalone story. You can play any of them and understand what's going on and enjoy the whole thing.
But, if you want to see every character grow and develop throughout the series, you need to play them in that order ^.
However (I'm sorry this is so convoluted), it's worth pointing out that Kiwami 2 and Yakuza 6 (and Judgment) all use a much newer game engine. They look much, much better than the games on the old engine. As such, going from Kiwami 2 to 3, 4, 5 may seem a bit jarring.
I hope that helps!
@ShogunRok Thank you so much. I'll pickup Yakuza O and play that first this weekend. Also it's fairly cheap if per chance I'm not sold on the series.
@DigiTM 0 is one of the best Yakuza games too! Hope you enjoy.
@HungryWolf Lol, You realize that there are only 720 hours in a month right? The 7 Yakuza games all together probably have easily 300 hours of gameplay if you don’t linger in them and just power through the main story only. If you only sleep an average of 6 hours a night, only eat once a day, have a commode by your PS4 for quick access, and don’t have a job — then you might be able to play them all in a single month.
Noice but i'll wait for the physical release
i'm a physical guy plus it will look great on my shelf next to all the others
I have put roughly 40 hours into Judgment and love it. I've been meaning to get into the main series, but I'm worried that the other games are just Judgment with a different story. I'm not sure if I could play through 6 games with the same map and similar minigames. Could anyone tell me if my worry is unfounded?
@ShogunRok, maybe you could help me with my question above? This article is getting buried now I suppose.
@NeoTokyo404 I don't think your worry's unfounded. All of the Yakuza games (including Judgment) are very similar in terms of gameplay and general structure. I love them but even I don't think I could play every one of them back to back without getting burned out.
I think you could make the jump from Judgment to Yakuza very easily given that you're enjoying it, but maybe take a break first.
