And there it is, the official logo of the PlayStation 5, or PS5 for short. What, did you expect anything else? Sony's sticking with the brand's trademark font for its next-gen console, which will release in late 2020. There's really not a whole lot else we can say, is there?
The logo was proudly unveiled by PlayStation CEO Jim Ryan as part of Sony's CES 2020 press conference.

As expected , simple , safe. I mean what else did we expect ?
It's
IT'S
Not that much different, which doesn't come as much of a surprise.
Nothing fancy with the logo. The safe way.
We were excepting something more for ps5 though. Oh well..
I’m fine with it. Looking forward to see what PS5 as to offer from here.
If isn’t broken don’t fix it.
Oh my god how thrilling.....not! I stopped watching the livestream after about 4 mins of it, lol.
The logo is perfect and doesn't need changing, as soon as you see it you know it's Playstation & which PS console it is.
They showed Ultra HD blu ray on the screen. I guess we are getting 4K blu ray player?
You lot never learn. Sony never said anything major with PS5 was happening, heck Push Square were telling you all not to expect anything.
Their originality astounds me...
Absolute perfection
Seeing an official PS5 logo makes me feel so old... ☹️
@thefirst lol they actually never said anything.
N.i.c.e i l 💖ve it.word ☝ up son
It's the playstation 3 slim font.
SMH at all the guys giving thumbs down to people who are disappointed with this "reveal". I'm one of them, downvote me as well. They announced that the future is coming and they unveil... a logo. Still, there's so much going on with the PS4 that I'm in no rush to learn more about PS5. Whenever you're ready Sony.
+1 for consistency.
@thefirst You should stop expecting stuff with a notice from Sony. 😉
Glad they kept with the usual naming system and called it a PS5, and didn't go for the stupid PSV name that was rumoured.
To be fair did anyone expect anything else. Ridiculous to reveal this though. It is what it is.
I like it. Glad they didn’t go crazy.
The Logo is perfect but it was a massive anti-climax SONY just showing that because we knew everything else Oh well, next month hopefully we will see er erm maybe just the PS5 UI I guess Still CAN'T WAIT tho! to see everything soon
I hate it and this console is doomed because of it.
invokes the second PS3 and current PS4 logo, consistent with the brand and tells you exactly what it is
it's perfect
Perfect just the way it is if I'm honest.
Sony innovate so much
@kyleforrester87 Fortunately they changed for the PS3 Slim release.
@vhsodre Booooo. Only good thing about Spiderman. The font.
I prefer the dark blue/lighter blue alternative version I saw on another article. But anyway, keeping it the same shows confidence and legacy. They don't have to keep changing the logo and general style of the console each generation because the last one flopped so badly, unlike some companies.
Y’all really trippin’ over practice? Not games, not the console, PRACTICE?! Honestly, I just read an article that said he’s no longer excited for the console because it shows Sony has given up. Hell, Sony did the same thing With the logo going from PS3 to PS4. See, this is why I hate Twitter and the internet.
@sonicmeerkat yeah nothing has changed here, same font lol
It’s refreshing in the sense that nobody else is consistent in matters like this. I’d almost expect them to call it PS V or some bulls*** like that.
Language please - Quintumply
The "5" really compliments the "PS", reminding us of the very core of human existence: aging and evolving, while still cherishing the new generation. The past, present and future existing in the same endless whirlpool, only to be seen chronologically by the subjective view of the human collective.
No seriously, it's boring as ****.
I was hoping for the console reveal...so the logo is disappointing, since it's the same thing with a 5 lol
Flip it upside down and you get g s d.... woooow
