Poll: What PS5 Launch Games Will You Buy?

The only ones that matter to me at the moment are Demon's Souls and Spider-Man Miles Morales (standard edition)

I'll probably wait on Sackboy, and even if Godfall and Bugsnax don't interest me at the moment, if I do end up wanting to try those games, I'll probably get those on PC anyways.

I'm also waiting on getting DMC5 SE physically as opposed to digitally at launch

Other than that I'll probably be playing those games and a bunch of PS4 titles I missed out on for the first few months of the console's lifespan

All the major ones. MM Ultimate, the special edition of Sackboy, and Demon's Souls. Gonna pick up Pathless as well, and obviously Bugsnax is free. Plus all the upgrades I'll be getting for free, which is why I marked NMS and stuff. Extremely excited for this. Most games I've ever had rolling into a new console by far.

Not getting a PS5 at launch unfortunately, but if I were, I would of bought Demon's Souls, Godfall, and Destruction All-Stars (to support the Liverpool and UK based developer), but since that will be free come February, Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition will take its place.

I don't usually play online multiplayer games that often unless it's for fighting games, and I have no interest in Destruction All Stars or the PS Plus Collection (of which I own pretty much most of the games either on PS4 or PC)

Just demon souls for me.
There's a couple of games in the plus collection I've not played yet too, so will give those a whirl while I wait for everything else to get cheaper...

I have Assassin's Creed, Watch Dogs and Miles Morales Ultimate Edition all preordered, but add to that the free upgrades for Borderlands 3, Maneater and obviously Bugsnax from PS+.

I'm mainly really looking forward to AC though.

I plan to buy at launch or at least before the end of the year: demon's souls, spider-man miles morales ultimate, godfall, sackboy, bugsnack (from psplus), no man sky next-gen (already have the game from ps4).

I might travel to the nearest game store launch day and pick up Demon's Souls, display it at home and weep until I can get my hands on a console 😭😂

I'm not going to buy anything at the launch. I just want that PS+ Collection to play some PS4 games I never had the chance to get my hands on. And let's hope I get PS5 on day one.

None. For the first time ever, there's nothing at launch which appeals to me... which makes it easier that it seems I won't get one for launch. It's a pretty dire line-up, in my personal opinion.

Demon's Souls and Valhalla for me at launch. Getting Miles Morales for Christmas as well. Might check out Godfall and Sackboy eventually but will wait for a sale with them.

Bear in mind my vote includes Bugsnax because it comes with ps+ and Maneater because I own it and can get a free upgrade

Spiderman Ultimate and I have Cyberpunk 2077 pre-ordered. Black Friday sales are coming I may buy a few $15 or less PS4 games at that point.

Miles and Planet Coaster day one. I'll zip through Miles and sell it to pick up Sackboy. Valhalla will come sometime early next year after a significant break from Odyssey. And of course Bugsnax for freebies.

I've preordered miles morales ultimate edition and demons souls already. I may get Sackboy too depending on the reviews in the next week or so.

I forgot to vote for it above but i also picked up borderlands 3 cheaply a few weeks ago, so can update to the PS5 version at launch.

I cancelled my preorder of Yakuza 7 on PS4, but have put a preorder in for the PS5 version in March as i might as well wait to play it when its all updated. Its actually only 40 pounds over at base.com which seems a bargin

I have watch dogs and assassins creed on the wishlist. Very interested in how valhalla reviews, particularly coming after ghost of tsushima which i think evolved the AC formula and took it to the next level

As a UK gamer, the only benefit to getting the console a week later is that all these games will have a week's worth of playing and reviews. I'll be sure to sift through those reviews during that week gap and avoid any duds.
If I was to choose now based on 'hype' -
Spider-Man MM and Sackboy come to mind.
Will wait for Watchdogs to go on sale in a few years like I have the past 2 games

Can't lie, this list provokes some slight fomo for me but my most anticipated games are coming in 2021.

@deathaxe Sony pulled destruction allstars from the launch line up last week, and announced it as a ps plus launch for February and March last week. Which makes so much more sense as it was DOA as a 70 pound launch title

Sackboy to play with the wife, but Astro bot will be booted up first. No need to get bugsnax now it’s coming to plus. Once I finish those games, and finish a few I still will have on PS4, I’ll assess how close we are until GT7 before deciding on dirt 5. Hopefully we’ll also get a release data for R&C too before long.

Spider-man Miles Morales and Demon's Souls are absolute must-haves day one. The Pathless and Bugsnax will also be on my PS5 in the first month. I'll pick up Godfall before the years over as well. (Assuming I don't just go back to Genshin Impact)

For me going on price and black Friday round the corner it has 2 b spiderman ultimate PlayStation Exclusives never go down in price where as ac and cod will so will get them after a week or 2 also getting planet coaster nothing like relaxing on ur own being the boss of ur very own fair ground I cant wait 2 try the heptic feed back though going 2 b fantastic roll on 19th

@Medic_Alert Yeah, who knows when we'll all even be able to buy one. A lot of the games might be out before I even get my hands on one. Might make them cheaper that way I guess, if its Spring or Summer before the system is widely available.

I couldn’t get in on the presale, but I’ll grab one once the next grouping comes out. Sackboy sounds like a fun time and Demon Souls sounds like torturous “soulsborne” fun. The Pathless looks intriguing as well.

Hi there fellow gamers. I have already pre-ordered Demon´s Souls and Spiderman: Miles Morales.
And after much deliberation I decided to also pre-order not just Sackboy: A Big Adventure(wich i was going to anyway) but also Godfall.
Even though the online only bugs me, I still belive in the potential of the game. Cause it looks fun and cool.
And like every european out there, I´ll be patiently waiting for the 19th.

Pathless looks great but a physical version is out in December, so will wait for that and may even pick up the physical version of Devil May Cry 5 SE.

Theres a few maybes Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate as I've not played aftermath and be nice to have a fighter. Observer Redux as heard good things of the current version but might be one for a sale. Could even see me getting NBA if I see cheap in the next few months.

There is nothing that interests me so much to buy it at any cost. If I must choose something, than it is Demon's Souls (heck... playing PS3 game, because there is no other choice...) at least there is quite long backlog of my PS4 games. ☺️

Well 3 out of the 22 options - and 1 of those I already own (Borderlands 3). Some others I may pick up in the future when the price is right or they are offered via a subscription but I would buy 3 at launch and Miles Morales would be the only Exclusive.

I wish none was an option. Sony thought only the most devoted fans get to preorder. Not to mention I want to see failure rates as Covid has wreaked havoc on manufacturing. And odds of finding a console on launch/day week are slim.

To be closer to reality, the title should have been shorter, like: "What PS5?"
The stock shortages will be severe, so i don't see a point in investing in too many PS5 games right now.
I'm considering preordering the Demon's Souls Digital Deluxe, just to have all the preorder bonuses when I'll eventually find and buy a PS5 and be able to play it.... but that's about it.
I preordered AC Valhalla on PC, to play it as soon as it gets out. Same will go for Cyberpunk and Fenix Rising, which are no longer official PS5 launch titles, but close enough.
Unfortunately Sony is gonna lose a lot from the lack of PS5 stocks, at least this holiday season.

I preordered Valhalla. After that I’ll get a second hand Sackboy. Already have No Man’s Sky so I’ll play it as well.

I'll likely not buy any of the launch games. Will of course give Astro and Bugsnax a go. But I have a bunch of games from PS4 to still play + PS Plus Collection games. Which will scream on the PS4. I will also pick up the PS4 edition of Cyberpunk to play on the PS5 on launch.

I totally understand the rationale for not wanting to have two competing games from the same dev. at launch but damn do I wish Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart was a launch title *sigh

@LiamCroft Guilty lol. I find playing Poker without real money to be a good bit of fun so unless the game gets bad reviews I'm definitely gonna pick it up for my new console when it comes out.
Now, for the other two to come out.

Gotta say, I was upset by the delay of Cyberpunk 2077 as that was gonna be the first thing I was going to play on the PS5 (yes, I'm aware it's not the PS5 version, thanks). I've picked up Demon's Souls. Not because I especially want to play it (I tend to give up around 3 quarters through Soulsbornes), but just because it looks so good. There's not really anything for me this launch.

I'm not getting the PS5 for now, but if I were, the only game that caught my attention was Demon's Souls.

Of the launch to tiles, Damon’s Souls is most likely to be the first launch rutile I play on PS5. Probably will wait at least a year to pick up a pS5 so I’ll be playing Pathless, Miles Morales, and Sackboy on PS4 first.

Going to be spider man / dirt 5 and devil may cry 5. I would love to give Godfall a go but I’m 50/50 on that at the moment! So might pick that up further down the line.

Demon's Souls for me. Maybe WRC 9 and Planet Coaster, depending on the reviews. Will also be enjoying the DOOM Eternal upgrade hopefully!

@Medic_Alert Yep see you also mention some games coming out in December like Immortals and Puyo Puyo those along with the mentioned physical versions of DMC5SE & Pathless also tempted me.

I'm off for almost two weeks when PS5 comes out, and likely will finished Miles, Sackboy at least and because of the newness (likely value as well) can sell to pick up immortals etc

@ShaiHulud WRC 9 I have plat trophy for! And I would highly recommend it! Even the ps4 version, I’m not entirely sure what they have in store for the ps5 version though.

@d0a01xz Watchdogs legion is brilliant! I’ve played 1 and 2 but just couldn’t get into them! But with Legion I love it! I’ve been getting side tracked and just messing about with the different characters. I’m confident you’ll enjoy it, I’ve bee playing it since launch and can’t get enough of it.

I must also say, if you didn't click Demon's Souls, you doing this wrong. There's way no around it.

@Dr-M Oh, it's quite diverse, and I'm not saying they're bad games... there's just not much of real interest to me.

I used to like R&C, but got bored of them with A Crack in Time, so the new one isn't the 'must play' it once would have been. I might pick it up, but later when it's cheaper.

Similar with Miles Morales - I enjoyed Spider-Man, but I picked it up late and cheap in a sale; the new game isn't a system seller for me.

Probably the one game I would get day one (if I had a confirmed PS5) is Watch Dogs Legion as I enjoyed the first two, but again... I don't feel like I absolutely have to play it.

The PS Plus Collection would probably be my biggest day-one draw, but most of what I'd want to play, I already own on PS4, so not exactly a system seller; I don't really care about higher resolutions and frame-rates when I've already played perfectly good versions on my Pro.

Horizon 2 or something from Naughty Dog would have had me excited, or a sequel to Days Gone. For what's available at launch, I'm happy to wait. I didn't really feel we needed the next generation yet anyway - I could happily have waited another year or two. Plus, I'm still not entirely convinced we're going to see much improvement in games beyond 'prettier' and 'more frames', at least not outside of Sony's first-party stuff. Hopefully I'm wrong, but I refuse to get my hopes up, as the only innovation many devs/publishers seem interested in is how to cram more MTX into games.

Call me a cheater but Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales because I get to play it on my PS4.

I'm have zero hope nor the energy to try find me a PS5 in the next few months. At the same time, once I played it, I am not sure there is anything coming out until Horizon that I would care to play, and then that is also coming to PS4.

I am going to wait on Godfall and have developer fix the game( it just smells of bugs).

If I was, though, I'd probably opt for Miles Morales w/ the Spider-Man remaster, since I don't already own the original. Demon's Souls looks impressive, but I just don't enjoy Souls games. The rest are meh.

Despite pre-ordering the disc version of the PS5 for backwards compatibility, I'm going digital this time and have pre-ordered Spider-Man MM Ultimate on the PS Store. Looking forward to playing through Astro's Playroom while that downloads. I'll eventually pick up Sackboy and Assassin's Creed, but not at launch and hopefully if they go on sale after Christmas.

MM is the physical game I have pre ordered, Bugsnax is free so that is a no brainer but I am really tempted by Godfall (or go back to Destiny - Beyond Light) which if Cyberpunk gets delayed again I will definitely be getting otherwise it can wait until Xmas

...it's a shame to see Planet Coaster not getting much love... it's going to be AMAZING on PS5... that and FUSER!!! dip in / out games alongside AAA titles is going to be a must for PS5... and Coaster / Fuser are going to be on the hard drive for a loooooong time...

Day one is all about Demon's Souls, but I'll be picking up Miles Morales ASAP after that. Bugsnax I'll get with PS Plus and looking forward to it. I'm fully in on Demon souls. Everything else I need to see reviews off. Man eater looks like its q bit a laugh so may pick that up so I have something to play with the family that we can laugh over. Already have the generations update but on PC, I play a lot, but PC VR only.

I'm going with Sackboy, for co-op and trying to get my 3 year old to play, and my wife maybe. Actually looking forward to playing a fun, simple game that's not sneaking around an open world killing stuff and taking 80+ hours to complete.

GoT should be included in this list.....I held off buying it after waiting for it for 2.5 years eagerly until I found out it had a PS5 improvement patch....snagged it last big sale, so that's technically my big "launch game" even though I could play it on my Pro without it playing much worse.

Selected Bugsnax because it's free, MM standard (not funding that hideous decision of not patching the base game to push a remaster), Sackboy, which I've been waiting for since LBP 1 and didn't know it (though I'm technically buying it after launch day and saving it for Christmas). The third party stuff is all on XSX, Godfall almost half tempts me, but I just can't tell until I see some coverage of it, and Demons Souls is a hard "maybe I'll get it if it's $17.99 at some point, maybe not."

As long as R&C comes out by March, I'm happy! Not too enthused with HzD2 & GoW2 yet simply because I've yet to finish the first. Hoping for boost performance there, too!

None, regrettably. I ve been to a electronics shop today and asked how it is planned for the 19th. They told me, no plans, as there won t be any supplies to retailers and there s no intend of Sony to do so. Online pre-order only for the time being and that is it. Sony do not want or cannot deliver to retailers in Germany on launch day. So prolly I gonna wait until the day when I am not forced anymore to buy from Amazon or another big online trader

I would have bought Outriders as well if it wasn't delayed.

Would have bought one on launch but apparently that's not possible as there hasn't been the ability to pre-order one since 24/9. Considering the country goes into lockdown on Thursday until 2/12, can't really wander down to a shop to pick one up either.

How to disenfranchise customers? I may as well spend a bit more and invest in a gaming PC. Alienating customers has that effect.

I won't be getting a PS5 for a little bit of time but if I were to get one I would definitely pick up Sackboy and Spiderman. Out of the third-party titles, I'll eventually be getting DIRT 5 and Assassin's Creed Valhalla for PC when I free up some of my gaming backlog down the road.
