A new patch for Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales has rolled out on PlayStation 5, and Insomniac Games says that it should “hopefully” address the crashes that have plagued the release on Sony’s next-gen console. Update 1.008.00 is available to download now, and lists “general fixes and polish” among its improvements.
But writing on Twitter in response to a fan, the developer elaborated that we can expect the title update to solve the game’s crashing issues:
Hopefully it’s successful, as we encountered numerous hangs while playing through this title last year. Let us know in the comments section below if it’s done the job for you.

Fingers crossed. I've held off on new game plus because the game kept crashing my console. Im pretty tolerant of bugs, but that was pretty unacceptable. Really affected the final mission of the game when it crashed TWICE during the final cutscene, hardlocking my PS5 on both occasions. Think my PS5 needed to be completely rebooted 10 times. I also had moments where the dualsense had a life of its own and sent spidey into a random loop until i reset the controller.
Its not happened to me on anything else yet (touch wood) so i do feel it was a software issue with Spiderman
Off topic: We have a dedicated deals tab on the ps5 store!!! Finally!
That's weird, I had a few crashes with Spiderman: Remastered, but not with Spider-Man: Miles Morales on my PS5!
Nice that they finally fix the pain away.
I haven't been playing since i beat it specifically because of the crashes and all the issues it caused afterwards...
its a fun game but the crashes was just more than a pain with the OS in the state it is.
I received about 3 or 4 crashes initially in the first two hours of gaming, but after that it never did again. Remastered acted quite funny though. About 10 to 15 times during extremely active gameplay the screen would flash and gameplay seemed to blink frames at around 1 frame every two seconds. At first I thought it was a feature, but then I noticed it happened when a lot was happening on screen. Miles never did it, neither did Astro, so I’m assuming it’s a software issue.
I had one crash in my 32 hours to get the platinum. I feel lucky and hope that this patch helps others. It is an amazing game that deserves to be played without lots of crashes. I still have rest mode turned off for my console in general. Just not worth risking game progress.
I have way more crashes with remastered but had a couple with miles morales. But apparently I’m making it up be cause this isn’t cyberpunk.
Now only if Cyberpunk could fix their crashing issue. That would be great.
Miles only crashed for me once, and that's the only crash my PS5 has had since launch. Remastered has never crashed on me at all. I guess I'm lucky. Also, I haven't played Cyberpunk 2077, LOL
Interesting, those having crashes with this game in fidelity mode, are you having issues with other Ray traced ps5 games? Maybe its not the game....
@Pditty1980 my console installed a patch for both games, but maybe the issue was across the board
I had about 3-4 crashes in total playing Miles Morales and those were all while I was fast travelling.
Tried to download the update but my game was corrupted so I had to delete the whole game and download again. That's the third game on my PS5 SSD that has done that since launch.
@Pditty1980 me too
I must have been really lucky, didn't get a single crash or any other issues while playing this or the remaster.
@Daleaf I had one freeze during a transition to a hideout in the remaster (and a couple visual glitches, like Norman Osborn being just a floating head) and some missing dialogue in one cutscene in MM - that's it. It's interesting that the games seemed to be pretty much unplayable for some others.
@Voltan yea I know when I saw the headline was thinking I never had any problems. Makes me think I might go out and buy cyberpunk haha, na going to wait for ps5 version of that to release to give it a go, I wasn't too hyped about it luckily, I want to play it but not in a rush tbh.
Wow. I just got the platinum for Miles Morales some days ago and didn't experience a single crash throughout the entire game.
I love gaming but we get a lot of issues now with crashes and other big stuff i believe this generation should have started next year losing all the problems. No PS5 to get at the biggest gamingstore here Gamemania the feedback from Sony on stock is terrible on PS5. AMD telling they have issues with their chipsets manufacturing its a mess.
@Rob_230 I went through exactly the same problems. I haven't played it yet after update (I was waiting for updates and in the meantime I played other games), do you know if the problems were fixed? Did you come back to play it after the last update?
Did you know if the spider man remastered advisor crash issue has been resolved?
