Remember when Crimson Desert lit up The Game Awards 2020 with an ambitious trailer that looked almost too good to be true? While a release date wasn't attached to the project at the time, we will now have to wait even longer to play it for ourselves because Pearl Abyss has delayed it to an unspecified date. This is so the team can implement more ideas and mechanics into the full experience to make for an "even deeper, more enriching game".
Confirming the news on Twitter, the developer said: "Since Crimson Desert‘s gameplay trailer reveal last year, the response we received from the community has been a huge source of encouragement for our team. We would like to thank you for the amazing support and enthusiasm you’ve shown for our reveal."
"We are currently hard at work developing Crimson Desert, which is rapidly evolving with new adventures and exciting experiences. However, we have decided that we need to dedicate to adding new ideas for an even deeper, more enriching game. Therefore, in order to create the best possible experience, all the while ensuring the health and safety of everyone involved in delivering the game, we have decided to delay Crimson Desert‘s release. We will provide an updated schedule in the future."
As a reminder of what we're talking about, head on through the link to check out the Crimson Desert gameplay trailer. It's a single player title with multiplayer components, set in a vast open world packed full of combat. You know, the usual AAA routine. It continues to look promising, but we won't be playing Crimson Desert any time soon.

Yay looking forward to 2023
Oh well, that backlog ain't gonna play itself anywho...
This game did catch my attention when it was first revealed. Looks promising but there's no rush we got plenty to keep busy with anyway.
Video Games: The Video Game. Coming someday.
I'm just happy to hear it's still alive. There hadn't been any updates for a while.
I was a bit confused at the time; is it an MMO or Single-Player?
Regardless, I was really impressed with the presentation last year...
@Fiendish-Beaver Hi there friend.
The game is going to be singleplayer and it looks great and ambitious. Glad to hear more of it and hopefully the next update will show new gameplay.
PS: awesome profile picture 😉
Cheers, stay safe and happy gaming to us all
I can’t believe I don’t remember this game. I just checked out the link you guys provided and it’s gameplay does look awesome.
Thank you, @RaZieLDaNtE. That's exactly what I was hoping for. It's certainly a game that is firmly on my radar as, for me, single-player games is where it is at! Good news. Really looking forward to it as the imagery shown was just incredible...
@Fiendish-Beaver Your welcome.
I´m also a singleplayer videogame fan myself.
Story driven, interesting characters, engaging narrative and fun gameplay. Those are the qualities I want the most in a videogame.
Cheers, stay safe and have a good one
RIP Holiday 2021 release window. Hopefully the game will launch by 2023.
