We're still a few weeks away from Sony revealing the free PlayStation Plus titles for the month of November 2021, but the firm has today confirmed it'll be including three bonus PSVR games in the lineup. This is to celebrate the headset's fifth anniversary, as confirmed over on the PlayStation Blog. While the post doesn't reveal which PSVR titles they'll be, more details will be shared during the usual PS Plus update towards the end of the month. The games will be offered alongside the usual single PS5 title and two PS4 experiences.
The blog post reads: "To celebrate this PS VR milestone, we wanted to give a special thank you to PlayStation fans: Starting in November, PlayStation Plus members will get three PS VR bonus games for no extra charge. Stay tuned for more details in the PlayStation Plus update in the next few weeks."
Sony then goes on to share the top five most played PSVR games across the globe, they are:
Of course, we all know Sony currently has a next-gen PSVR headset in the works, but concrete details aren't expected to be shared publicly until next year — that's also when it's expected to release. In the meantime, what free PSVR titles do you hope to receive as part of PS Plus? Share your wishlist in the comments below.

Its good to see Sony giving some PSVR titles some love. Unfortunately just gonna add to the PS+ complaints. But what can you do.
As for titles? Beat Saber. But I also know that is way to far fetched (never even been on sale, but hey, one can dream!)
Yea we have to wait until almost the first Tuesday of the month to find out the PS+ games but they can tell us the PSVR games almost a whole month in advance -___- im upset lol
That’s quite generous, and unexpected. From a selfish perspective, I hope they’re not the same games as those given away during the summer as I nabbed them then. Even if they are, they’re great games and give others an opportunity to also get them for zero outlay.
incoming rage in 3...2...1...
Can't believe Astrobot isn't on that list.
Yes, Yes, Yes!!! Finally some love on PS Plus, but please don’t be the ones given free recently. That’ll be a downer.
@rawzeku with Facebook (aka Oculus) buying the Beat Saber Devs a while ago....eeh doubt it
I've held off buying anymore PSVR games since the brilliant Pistol whip, as a bit concerned whether they will be compatible with PSVR2.
I do hope so!
5 years of PSVR already?! Well done Sony for taking a massive risk with it. I don't think this is given enough credit. Without Sony's elegant, entry-level solution there's no way VR would've gained as much traction in the market or public psyche as it has now, and we'd all be worse off for it.
To R&D and mass produce a £350 unit took guts. Not only did Sony spend hundreds of millions on 1st and second party elusive last gen (every gen really) but thry introduced a transformative way to experience games for a 'budget' price.
I for one know that now I've played a racing/flying games in VR its hard to go back to 2D. And after RE7 in VR I knew its the future of total immersion in games. RE7 is insanely scary.
Well done Sony, you're PSVR success is well deserved. Theyve supported it with plenty of 1st games and now they're giving us PSVR2. BRILLIANT.
Ive tried PSVR over a friends and I definitely would like to get it myself but im holding out for the next version. Mainly because the Move controllers are still either awkward to get or way overpriced
Waiting on PSVR 2 before I take the plunge, but between this and the Play at Home perks, I’m amassing quite the VR game collection before I even have a compatible device!
I pre-ordered PSVR and was super excited... but immediately got motion sickness. Though I know some get it in first person titles this had never happened to me before in gaming.
I tried playing in short 10 minute spells for a week but it still happened without fail. Thankfully distance selling meant I could return it for a full refund.
Hoping that between the newer tech and devs learning how to account for this, it will be less of an issue with PSVR2.
Willing to try again, but also sceptical.
@jingounchained Same here, hoping it’ll be backward compatible with the games from the current PSVR…
@YETi Yeah. Absolute fail. Rec room is free so it makes sense. Also, other than the small alien segment of VR Worlds I never went back for anything in that one.
@themightyant I saw you on EG 😁👍
Hoping for any of these:
No Man's Sky Beyond
Hitman 3
Iron Man
Until Dawn Rush of Blood (make up for the flop of this months offerings)
Doom 3
Wolfenstein cyberpilot
Raw Data
Sprint Vector
Xing Land Beyond
Falcon Age
Ghost Giant
Sairento
Battlewake
Shadow Legend
I've been buying many that have went on sale so I've got like 40 of the better titles now including the ones given out before. I bet RE 7 will be one, though since its in the plus collection.
I’ve got over 150 VR games so I’m good. But it’s good to see they are making this sort of marketing push to help build up hype for the next headset reveal.
I really can’t wait for PSVR 2. It’s going to be amazing.
@themightyant Same. I actually tried it at an event and was completely blown away with the shark demo and ordered one there and then. Unfortunately, the shark demo was about the only thing I could play on it. I kept trying to persevere with it but couldn't manage to keep the sickness at bay, and eventually sold it to my nephew. It's such a shame because when by body could take it, it was an unbelievable achievement, and I really hope advances in tech can help. But as you said, I am skeptical
@Integrity I get aboot! (As my Canadian friends say) PX, NL and a few others too.
Now I'm wondering which one you are on EG! Stalking doesn't have much Integrity 🤣
Well given that Sony is buying out Bad Wolf and that a 2d remake is about to drop, I think the Dr Who VR game is a dead cert.
Thinking of VR titles I don't already have, I'd really like to get Skyrim or Doom.
I wouldn't mind betting Resi 7 is one of the games. Double whammy by having a game that's playable in two different capacities.
@themightyant if you can keep a secret i'll give you a clue. On EG I have over 15000 comments 😁
Iron man and beat saber would be ace thanks
@PapaGlitch Same! I tried Batman at a demo event and was blown away and had no issues. But seemingly every other game gave me motion sickness. I hope 'my body is ready' to try again with PSVR2
This concerns me as to how naff the PS4 freebies are going to be this month.
Anyone know any of those games can be played without PSVR?
Apparently there are regional variations:
Europe: Rec Room, PlayStation VR Worlds, Beat Saber, The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim VR, Resident Evil 7 biohazard
North America: Rec Room, Beat Saber, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR, Job Simulator, Firewall: Zero Hour
Japan: Resident Evil 7 biohazard, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR, PlayStation VR Worlds, Beat Saber, Gran Turismo Sport
@Integrity I'm not sure that narrows it down quite a few of us... can get quite obsessive with games
I have quite a few PSVR titles. I just hope it is not one that i already own.
@themightyant I reckon if you saw how I write here you'd be able to work out who I am there. I don't want to tell you as it's more fun like this. Let's see if one day it clicks and you get it 😁
Once again screwed over by psn
@YewhwehsHammer did you want them to give you a PSVR too? 😆😆👍
Im a pretty avid PSVR supporter so most likely to have the games already.
But there are a still a few digital releases I dont mind.
-Immortal Legacy
-Deracine
-The Room VR
-A Fishermans Tale
All have been on my to buy list but havent reached £4.99 or less that I want to pay (though fishermans tale got pretty close)
Removed - offensive remarks
I like how Sony has been pushing VR lately. It's good news for the upcoming PSVR2 if they are focused on it long-term, and not just release something and forget it like they sometimes do.
@themightyant Yeah VR making people unwell has been a major hurdle this gen. Hopefully new lens tech and feedback in the headset can alleviate some of that the coming gen.
I managed to ease myself into VR by playing games that have you standing still (Superhot, Everybodys Golf) first, and then gradually moving on to games where you freely move around - so I never really got sick.
Good for those who can enjoy it without experiencing nausea. What little I played of PSVR games felt really impressive (especially RE7 and GT Sport) so I'll wait for PSVR2 to drop in price a bit and try again hoping that the resolution bump and whatever anti-nausea measures Sony implements (at least I heard a rumour about it) will improve the experiencw for me.
What am I reading in here? Sony is celebrating the anniversary of its virtual reality headset by rewarding the consumers who supported its virtual reality headset with some bonus games.
This is not removing anything from its services, and is just a value add to recognise a milestone moment in one of its product's lifecycles.
Are we really getting angry about this?
Sweet, as long as its not the free summer games we got this is a nice bonus. It is Sony though....
Borderlands 2 vr , Skyrim vr , Tetris effect , bravo team , batman Arkham vr , blood & truth , twd saints & sinners , titanic vr , Chernobyl vr project , the persistence , the inpatient , Blair witch vr , Arizona sunshine , pistol whip , fnaf help wanted , any of those I'd be pleased with
I hope the new set is backwards compatible otherwise I'll never get to play allot of good VR games, as for the free games I'll take them!
That's a nice gesture by Sony...fingers crossed that I don't own them all already.
Iron Man? Re7?
They've already given out quite a few, not sure which are left. I have really enjoyed my vr (except for with re7 because that physically hurt to use on original phat boy ps4) and Astro Bot is an absolute joy if you haven't already played it.
I don't currently own a VR, but plan to get the next gen one. Hoping for backwards compatibility!
Wondering if this is a pre-marketing move so more people own games already and might be tempted?
Really hoping PSVR-2 makes immense improvements to prevent nausea. I went all-in on PSVR, but after a few months, I just couldn't handle feeling like I was hungover for the remainder of a day after playing only 15 minutes of VR😩
If it's beat saber, saints and sinners or resident evil 7 I will flip
I'm probably reading too much into it, but it's interesting the statement reads "Starting in November". Suggests they'll be giving exta vr titles for more than just that one month.
@IonMagi why Microsoft bought Bethesda yet skyrim VR is there 🤔
Really cool , sadly i dont own a vr set
@Falkirk4life because its only a List of the most played VR Games lol, not those we get in PS+ next month
@get2sammyb you do read the comment sections in all other articles? Over half your reader base exist only to get angry and moan about everything no matter how good..one day you will realise this..
@HUMPERDOO or the chosen titles will continue to be free for a couple months for PS+ subscribers.
@Texan_Survivor yes, most of the games story modes can be completed in 8 hours or less, but you tell me 1 person who has ONLY put in 8 hours of skyrim? And thats it?
Plus, there are many games with unlimited replayability, survival modes, or online. Alvo, for example, is an online COD like game, with no story mode. I have personally sunk hundreds of hours into Alvo. Plus, with the ability of not just using the typical controller, ie move controllers, aim controller, each play through of some games are different. Eg, arizona sunshine has different weapons for both controllers, changing the game play completely.
Its not all black and white bro, theres a massive grey area in between
It will probably be the free games that are bundled with the headset going off Sony's recent form.
Still can't believe they didn't include a horror game for October haha Seems so obvious...
I pretty much have all the PSVR games I want and since PS5 have barely touched it, although beat sabre would be fun, plus it has music packs as additional revenue streams. For this reason I'm surprised it's not been gifted before, and is also why I hold out not much hope this time...
I'll just add them to my ongoing collection of unplayed PSVR games. It's not that I don't want to play them, but that I never had the money for the headset and when I finally did, they announced that they were working on a new one. So I figured I'd stockpile some games and wait it out for the new headset to have with my PS5.
I hope they aren't games already given for free, that would be terrible. This is a great thing though. I don't care if they are over in 8 hours, I need small games in my diet. As long as some good games are given, that's great.
Also, Sony really needs to give away PSVR games every month. That would be excellent and more on part with the service of old. Two PS5 games, two PS4, and two PSVR every month would be the ideal. At least continue this with 1 game a month. Plus, if you give people free VR games for them to claim, it might make a headset look better because they are building up games for it.
@kingvosyoutube they haven't announced what the games are, they've just said there will be three free games.
Why are some so angry at this?
I don't have PSVR and have zero interest in ever owning one but see no issue with Sony rewarding those that supported it with a nice bonus on top of the regular lineup.
I'm so tired of the entitled nature fanboys are getting.
Well can't argue with no charge!
I sold my PSVR when I picked up my PS5. I just couldn't be bothered with all the cables getting it working on my new PS5 so I just got rid of it.
Looking forward to picking up the next gen version in a year or two.
I think Astrobot and Ace Combat were my two favourites. Worth the price of admission alone.
@Milktastrophe Ah, that's a good point. Most likely that, yeah.
@get2sammyb Haha. The internet, where receiving free stuff is still a problem for some.
.
Think I've purchased 2, Astrobot & World's. We've had a bunch w/ PS+ already - Rush of Dawn, Rigs - and a few given away for free w/ Play at Home - Moss &, Paper Beasts - so I'm curious what the 3 will be, surely at least 1 will be a duplicate. Oh and that bug planet game with the gun, that I never played b/c I never got the gun.
100 Foot Robot Golf is long forgotten, that could be 1, if it hasn't already. A boxing game, maybe Creed, though Move are hard to come by. I wonder if they would count Dreams? Concrete Genie was in PS+ about a year ago.
I haven't had PS+ in about a year, a Black Friday $30 sale coupled w/ a good PSVR game could get me back, maybe. But I really need to find a PS5. 😝
@kingvosyotube they didn't reveal the ps plus be games.they just showed the top 5 most played vr games
@themightyant We don't actually say "aboot". Most of us say "about" the same way the Americans do.
Anyone know if people prone to motion sickness could play any of the PSVR games ?
I bet it will be titles I already have 🙄🙄 would be ok to have beat saber I guess but not a fan of it
@Dobbos It seems to depend from game to game. Because the method of movement isn’t always the same, it’s difficult to know.
One game that makes someone sick, has zero effect on someone else.
I don’t get motion sickness so I can’t answer definitively, but that appears to be the general consensus.
@SoulChimera Ok. Thanks for the reply. I will try to get a demo sometime. 🙂
@Dobbos It’s definitely the best way to find out. Problem is, if you like it, you wont want to come out. Haha.
I hope it works for you, its simply amazing. Good luck!
Looking forward to whatever VR games they choose!
