You may have already caught a glimpse of this having finished The Dark Pictures Anthology: House of Ashes, but Supermassive Games has now issued the official announcement trailer for the fourth entry in the series, titled The Devil In Me. This is being pitched as the anthology's Season One finale, of which there was originally supposed to be eight instalments. We assume Season Two will contain another four titles if the developer is still sticking with its plans.
It's tough to really work out what this one will actually be about. A character that looks like a Ghoul out of Fallout provides a monologue about being an artist whilst sitting at a table with a cigarette in their hand. Then there are glimpses of other faces in a gas chamber. Your guess is as good as ours, to be perfectly honest. While Man of Medan and Little Hope had fairly obvious premises straight from the off, The Devil In Me remains mysterious for now.
A press release reads: "A group of documentary filmmakers receive a mysterious invite to a replica of the ‘Murder Castle’ of H.H. Holmes, America’s first serial killer. They soon discover that they’re being watched, and there is much more at stake than their viewing figures. Step into the anthology’s most bloodcurdling story yet, where each of your choices once again determines who lives and who dies. Watch in horror as your unfortunate crew falls prey to a twisted host who is observing their every move."
It'll likely be out at some point next year for PlayStation 5 and PS4, so we'll learn more in the future. Have you been enjoying The Dark Pictures Anthology? What's been your favourite so far? Share your thoughts in the comments below.

I haven’t played these yet, but they’re on my list to get - I loved Until Dawn.
I wish Sony would have kept them on board. Would have been cool to get a constant stream of these type of games every 6 months or so as part of PS+
I’ve just finished House of Ashes and I’ve quite enjoyed it actually. I wasn’t sure at first because it wasn’t what I expected but overall it’s a solid entry. It’s more action-adventure and not very scary but it would be boring if they were all the same I suppose.
I do wish they would sort their trophy lists out though because I can’t see myself re-playing the entire game several times for the multiple game-spanning trophies. I haven’t platinumed any of these DPA games for that reason - but I would if they weren’t so taxing.
Thoroughly enjoyed all!
Bit schlocky at times … but I must admit I quite enjoy this formula. Will even do the Curator's Cut. So, yeah, going on the wishlist for sure.
Dunno fellas I’m on the fence. Heavy Rain was the only interactive walking sim I played thru; long time ago tried until dawn on PS+ but it didn’t grab me is HOA more game like?
These are on my to get list since I love Until Dawn but I'm waiting for everything to be bundled in one collection.
Any word on if these will ever be bundled together?
@Deadhunter They are on the PlayStation Store: https://store.playstation.com/en-us/product/UP0700-PPSA02595_00-SMGTDPHABUNDLE03
Not sure about physical, if that's what you're after.
Really loved Until Dawn, but still on the fence with this anthology!
Been eyeing up the triple pack. Should I give it a try?
Also assuming House of Ashes is the only one that has PS5 benefits? Little Hope and Man of Medan didn't get any free upgrade patches?
@LiamCroft there is physical for the triple pack. going for around £43-45.
@Perryg92 Yeah House of Ashes is the only native PS5 game in the series, Man of Medan and Little Hope are just PS4.
Blows my mind that these games aren't super mega award winning hits. $30 for these games that I end up playing several times over with different outcomes, yet I'll breeze through a AAA game that costs $70 in less than 3 or 4 hours that I'll never play again.
And the game mechanics get better with each release.
@Perryg92 They upgraded Little Hope to support 60fps on the PS5, but Man of Medan didn't get any updates for PS5 support.
@ShaneReactions thanks for the info!
Might get Little Hope and House of Ashes then.
@Perryg92 Just get all 3 in the bundle package for $60 then. Trust me, they're all great titles. And they all have options to pass the controller around for a 'movie night' type of event with friends - so each person is deciding their characters fate instead of you doing all the work solo
I don't get the hype, y'all smoothskins never seen a ghoul before?
The narrators are cool enough as is, if this guy is the new one that'd be sick.
@Stragen8
Unfortunately, none of them are nowhere near as good as until dawn.
I actually loved House of Ashes! Is the best of the three. But I like the anthology.
Surprised that this was even coming, must have forgotten their plans for eight games...
I'll still play this eventually, but only when it's $15 New (waiting for House of Ashes to hit that price).
