*Noddy Holder voice* It's Deceeeeeembeeeeerrrrrr! The final month of the year always ushers in a festive spirit, and Sony's ready to pop some new gifts under the PlayStation Plus tree. Yes, a new month means a new suite of PS Plus games joining the service.
A little later than usual, December's lineup is now ready to claim and download now in Europe, and will be hitting other territories very soon. As a reminder, your Plus games this time include Godfall: Challenger Edition on PS5 and PS4, and PS4-only titles LEGO DC Super-Villains and Mortal Shell.
It's also worth remembering that three bonus PSVR games are still up for grabs. Carried over from last month, The Persistence, The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners, and Until You Fall will remain on the service until PS Plus is refreshed again on 3rd January 2022.
Which Plus game will you be giving a shot? Tell us in the comments section below.

Added to library. Dunno when I'll play any of them. Backlog is already huge 😐
Will grab Lego and Mortal Shell, but refuse to even add Godfall: Crap Demo Edition to library. At least the devs for it don't get any cash from Sony for it that way.
@The-Grezzly-Bear Relatable. Isn't it great to be a gamer nowadays? 😂
Was really excited by Mortal Shell but seems a shame to not play it at its full potential with the enhanced version. It's hard to play games at 30fps now!
I see that they blocked the mortal shell free ps5 upgrade...that's a bummer and a low level move.
Honestly it is SUPER-disappointing that the Enhanced Edition of Mortal Shell for PS5 isn't included when it's normally FREE.
Worse still they don't offer a reasonable upgrade path. Same with FF7R and now a gimped version of Godfall. Punishing their most dedicated fanbase on PS5.
PS+ has generally been great in the last couple of years, so I don't want to be pedantic about this but some of Sony's recent decisions are maddening and driving players like me more to the other side.
Thankfully Mortal Shell Enhanced Edition IS on Game Pass. I'll vote with my wallet. I've just renewed Game Pass and am deciding what to do with PS+ until they announce their PS+ & PS Now plans.
Nah, you're alright.
Shame about mortal shell upgrade…
@lolwhatno I did but keep forgetting. What's the point tho'? Does it change anything?
@zebric21 the whole idea is to tempt you to purchase the PS5 edition.
@The-Grezzly-Bear even though i am pretty much only playing on PS (including a lot of VR) and a pretty slow end of the year, I am still perpetually overwhelmed with the amount of stuff to play, lol.
@themightyant Ah so there's not even a cheaper upgrade to the PS5 version? How annoying!
@Dr_ENT nah i won't do it..ps5 is becoming an expensive sport and competition is better than ever..sony managed to loose a lot of steam and hype and black friday numbers are worrying.
What do you mean by BF numbers? Do you mean the fact that Series S was the best selling console? The only reason this happened is because PS5 is no where to be found.
@Dr_ENT Who cares if the customer is happy with a wallet friendly product..at the end of the day a lot of people bought ps5 because they were very happy with ps4..sony is doing their best to upset their fanbase..I expect christmas to be another lost month to competition.
@render No sadly there's not, just like FF7 remake. PS+ is becoming frustrating for PS5 owners.
@Dr_ENT "The only reason this happened is because PS5 is no where to be found." That MAY be the case, but we really don't know. Series S at £250 is in a LOT more parents price range, and closer to that impulse buy purchase, than £360 (PS5 digital) or £450 for PS5/XSX. Even if they were all available there is a chance Series S would still have sold best for xmas and BF specifically. We just don't have the data to conclusively say either way.
@zebric21 why the all rage? Competition is a healthy thing. It will motivate Sony to be aggressive and creative.
@Dr_ENT Tha's what i hope too but as an early ps5 adopter i don't see that yet.
@lolwhatno Perhaps. As a web dev I suspect it's a feature that once had a use e.g. 'most liked' articles on the homepage but as no one used the feature enough it is now 'most read' instead. (and i'm sure they used to have 'most commented' too, maybe that's another site)
@Brydontk
Spoilt for choice 😂
@dschons
I'm still playing stuff from 2018 😂
@The-Grezzly-Bear I wish man, I still have a PS3/PSP/Vita backlog, lol
Because I already own Godfall I'll have to get to level 50 before I can access the endgame stuff so the ps plus version wont let me add to library so it is no good to me 🤣
Such an awful month again, full of stripped down demos and inferior versions of games with no PS5 option. The only thing I can think is that Sony are not shipping the copies of games they hoped, so they're are hobbling PS+ for a while to encourage sales. Honestly, it's been awful for the past 6 months now.
I have also got into a habit of seeing games like Yakuza: Like a Dragon for £20 and thinking 'Nah, I'll just wait for it to come to PS+'. Whereas, before I would have bought these games (Yes, cheap, but at least new) to go in my collection.
To be fair, I haven't bought a new game since feeling ripped off by Ratchet and Clank and it could be over a year before I buy another PS exclusive, as I'll wait for the prices to drop now. I wonder if others are felling the same.
Squall: "whatever."
Can't say I'm excited for restricted versions of Godfall & Mortal Shell - I probably won't even put them in my Library.
The LEGO DC Villians game is okay, but I've not much interest in Marvel/DC properties & already have LEGO Harry Potter & Star Wars.
A very underwhelming month in general...
After giving Godfall: Challenger Edition a try, I’m even more disappointed that it isn’t the full game. I liked what I played.
@dschons
Haha, there's just not enough hours in the day.
Nope, a crappy demo and not even the ps5 upgrade for mortal Shell.
Actually played one game in nearly a year on ps+ (Wreckfest).
Seriously considering an Xbox because of gamepass, Sony really need to improve plus.
So…is the $15 Godfall upgrade in the PS store the download to upgrade the Plus version to the Deluxe version? I mean I guess that is pretty good for a discount on a $60 game.
It’s a little confusing because the upgrade mentions unlocking all these skins which sounds more like the Ascended Edition than the Deluxe.
I'm long past the point of caring about ps+ games, it must be 6 months since there's even been a game I've added to my library.
My subscription ends next month and it would take a lot for me to want to resubscribe.
Played 15 minutes of the Godfall tutorial and then deleted it. Feels like it will get old and repetitive quickly.
@Bentleyma- You can upgrade the plus game to the digital deluxe version for £12 and play the campaign. The upgrade gets you the PS4 and 5 versions.
@Shigurui Are you sure? I thought the £12.99 price was the usual Challenger Edition price when it’s not on PlayStation Plus.
@Bentleyma- Yes mate, the £12 upgrade nets you the campaign and some character skins. It got added to the store today.
Ok month. People comparing PS+ to GP really have no clue. Internet brain wash I suppose with all the advertisement in the press.
@Shigurui I’m pretty sure you’re mistaken.
@Bentleyma- Considering I bought the £12 upgrade and have been playing the campaign since yesterday, I'm pretty certain that I'm not mistaken.
Nope, not even adding any of this to my library.
I was only able to claim the glorified Godfall demo, since they locked Mortal Shell PS+ from upgrading to PS5, and I already own LEGO DC Villains.
The last 6 months have been dismal on PS5, there is no new game that I even would install for free at the moment. Next year seems to be ok for AAA games on console but at the moment there is nothing I don't already own. The last game I have bought was tales of arise and before that it was months before anything as well because there just hasn't been any great games.
I find myself just playing PC now as the ps5 is a disappointment so far
