Rockstar has reiterated that GTA Online will be free for PlayStation 5 owners to download and play, beginning from its launch on 15th March. You’ll have three months to claim the game and add it to your library. It’s worth pointing out that you will need a PS Plus subscription in order to take advantage of this offer, but you can’t play the mode without it anyway.
To clarify, this is a standalone version of the multiplayer mode, and will not entitle you to the single player campaign, as that will be sold separately. The re-release will feature a new onboarding system called the Career Builder, which will provide you with instant access to a criminal empire of your choice: Biker, Executive, Nightclub Owner, or Gunrunner.
If you’re unsure which to pick, we have a guide on How to Make Money in GTA Online, but we’d probably recommend you pick Executive to be honest. We’ll elaborate on that in future articles, though. Meh. Have zero interest in GTA Online…
@awp69 That's fine, but plenty of people enjoy it!
@get2sammyb Oh, I understand. Just don’t see this 3-months free as particularly appealing with all the micro transactions and all involved in GTA Online. Not my bag of chips.
I thought there were heavy rumours this was going f2p anyway? Or did I dream that?
Is this a rerelease for the third time with GTA 5 kinda disgusting and they will probably charge €60 again.
who cares tbh
Will definitely be picking this up when it drops on the 15th. Playing in 1080p with 30 frames feels really weird.
I always thought it was free to be honest, and I still never played it
So is this free to download and then keep or is it free to download and play for 3 months only?
@CRASHTEST from what i understand its free forever as long as you downl9ad it or add it to the library, then after that 3 month period people willl have to buy it if they havent claimed it
@Daleaf that's what I originally thought, I've seen a few mentions where people have assumed it's a 3 month trial. The wording in articles doesn't make it clear 😅 either way I'll get to see what it looks like on the PS5
Game plays like it should be Free to play anyway.
And again half of an old game is presented as a full Plus game. This has to stop.
Probably give it a go out of curiosity. But personally I absolutely hate the way the game plays. Really clunky. Just really horrible controls.
