In case you haven't heard yet, Bloodborne is now available on PC...well, not really. Bloodborne PSX is a PS1-style demake of the essential PlayStation 4 action RPG, created by Unreal Engine 4 wizard Lilith Walther. It's not a recreation of the full game — just a healthy chunk of its opening hours, with some new bits thrown in for good measure. The whole thing's impressively accurate — it even mimics the direction of certain cutscenes, and the gameplay feel isn't that far off the original release.
It's one hell of an achievement, and swathes of PC gamers are lapping it up. Bloodborne PSX is free to download (you can find it through here), and it managed to hit a whopping 100,000 downloads in less than a day.
If you want to see Bloodborne PSX in action, our very own video editor Aaron has you covered:
Now then, if Sony could just, you know, remember that Bloodborne exists, that would be great.

Would love to see PSX Demakes become a thing on PSN.
I'd pay €5.00 - €10.00 for this.
If I were Sony I'd reach out to the dev and get them to release it on PS4/PS5, even if it was just for free. Or better, bundle it with the rumoured Bloodborne remaster as a fun extra.
Glad to see the success of this. It's a brilliant demake. Clearly a ton of effort was put into it.
Im still amazed Sony hasn't hit them with a takedown (yet). Hopefully they won't.
Reminds me of Nightmare Creatures a bit. Really cool, but I think the Mario Odyssey demake still holds the crown as it's nearly the whole game.
@AdamNovice Agreed! I hope they don't take the "other" path and shut it down — embrace it and get it ported to the PS Store.
@rawzeku That’s exactly what I was coming to say. If it stays up that’s awesome for Sony not to kill all the work that clearly went into this.
I would love to see more of this. Also bring back nightmare creatures you cowards.
@AdamNovice Definitely this. Pay them to finish it, then contract them to make Demon's Souls.
Since it’s only the opening of the game - it really just acts as a marketing piece for Sony to sell more copies. Hope they don’t shut it down!
It’s seriously cool looking. I really need to give it a go.
I downloaded and tried it last night. It's a ton of fun. Love the aesthetic, CRT options and using the D-Pad for movement works surprisingly well.
@get2sammyb I hope so too, Sony are far more lenient compared to Nintendo over these things, I think it would bring a nice chunk of goodwill there way.
Maybe Sony should sign these guys up… before MS does! 😉
Hahah. The PC crowd acting like Blood Starved Beasts when it comes to Bloodborne 😉
I'm fairly convinced that this has little to do with the retro-ness of it and more to do with the overall desire to play more bloodborne. Honestly... when are we gonna get a sequel.
@get2sammyb The Dev might get in trouble since they kinda sell the Game on ich.io
You can obviously get it for free but also buy it there
"Winning!"
Classic! 🤣
I'm also fairly surprised that there wasn't a cease & desist by now. Anyway, just started Bloodborne again after some years and the game's still fantastic, FROMs best... Why Sony? Why no 60fps patch (like From did for Sekiro and Dark Souls 3)?! Let me pay 10b bucks for the friggin Director's Cut, if you have to..
Looks like Nightmare Creatures
Imagine the sales this would generate if it was the actual game at the $50 price Sony has been charging for ports. I wonder what the real reason is for Sony letting it rot on PS4 all these years
Yeah, wow, the real deal's still lodged somewhere in my backlog, so I can't comment on accuracy, but that trailer oozes style, looks smooth to play, and hits the ol' nostalgia bone in all the right ways. Hats off to the creator.
