why would I buy Returnal now though (especially for that price), now that I know that I can play it with my PS Now subscription in June?
@danlk1ng Even at their sales prices the new PS Plus Extra is cheaper for a year than just Miles Morales and Returnal added together. I genuinely can't figure out if Sony actually want us to sign up to it or not?
Terrible sale! Either AAA games over £60 still or 99p shovelware rubbish!
Mass Effect Trilogy and whatever we get on PS Plus should carry me over until June for Miles Morales & Death Stranding
Hot Wheels is tempting, but I'm playing GT7 and Mario Kart DLC, so maybe a no on that for now.
Ninja Gaiden though... I've never played one of those. I could be tempted.
Just waiting on a sale on No mans sky now.
Over a year on and still Sony won't make AAA first party less than £40-£50 on their own store in sales. This is why I won't embrace an all digital future.
@lolwhatno i may have to just try and grab a cheap physical version from somewhere. It doesn't look like it goes on sale too often digitally.
No bother buddy. Its quiet at work today anyway 😂😁
Had a look through, anything I'm interested in I already have.
Wallet just breathed a sigh of relief.
I haven't checked the list out yet, however remember if RE 2 and 3 remakes are there, and RE7 too, they;re getting free upgrades to PS5 this year
@Shepherd_Tallon Ninja Gaiden is excellent, but nails.... Enjoy if ya pick it up
Not great 'sale' prices considering the price you can find 'physical' copies for. I never paid those prices for my R&C, Spider-Man MM (ultimate edition to get Spider-Man PS5 too) etc so I'll pass...
I do wonder if they'll keep the prices high to try and force people to think their Subscription value is better - you're getting £50+ each games even if they are over a year old now and paying a 'few' extra bucks a month to play the games you've waited for to drop to a 'reasonable' price. It doesn't matter that they are still as expensive as many 'brand new' releases being offered Day and Date elsewhere, so they still offering a LOT of price equivalent games on their service...
@Ooccoo_Jr nah, I think it's pretty clear they want us to sign up for one of the higher PS Plus tiers. What's less clear is if they have any intention of actually selling any of these games digitally. It's just bizarre to announce new tiers of PS Plus one day, and then the very next day have a sale on games that will be included in the new PS Plus tier, at such ludicrously high prices.
I mean I wouldn't expect them to sell them for so cheap that it wouldn't be remotely worth considering the PS Plus upgrade, but for the discounts they are giving, it's questionable whether it was worth putting them in the sale at all
Why isn't Spiderman MM or Ghost of Tsushima 50% off, yet? They both over a year old! I swear Sony's 1st party stuff used to have better sales
Still want a digital version of Sekiro but not for £30
@tomassi "Terrible sale! Either AAA games over £60 still or 99p shovelware rubbish!"
Confirmation bias at its finest.
Why is ratchet and returnal still so high?
Both scarlet nexus and tales of arise on sale, but still not at a low enough price for me to consider digital (£20.99 and £29.99 respectively).
@naruball I'm reeeeealllly thick, can you explain your reply to me please...
@danlk1ng Potentially done on purpose. People that buy Returnal now might get a coincidental survey that seeks to find out whether they heard the news about the new subs or if they did are they interested in it?
Sony still refuses to acknowledge Days Gone exists. I'd buy that game for ten bucks.
The landscape has changed since PS5 launch since last year. Sony has been following Nintendo in terms of first party titles. (Microsoft is not relevant here as only very few would buy their first party anyway given availability on gp). As Sony sell digital version PS5 at a loss, they will try to recoup it and now with new ps plus service, there is even more reason to give little discount to digital versions. I would still buy digital as I can share with my siblings. (If you have ps4 playing friends, you can share extra too).
Woke up to a notice that a few wishlist items were now on sale. Not a bad way to start the day.
Little Nightmares 2 is 50% off. I'll bite for that price.
What a joke! Returnals been out for almost a year and £52! Come on Sony, lower to £29.99 and sell tens of thousands.
Sony seem too be doing a Nintendo with the sale prices of exclusives.
Just got some atelier games the ones included in bundle is it worth getting the dx versions and selling the normal editions?
@tomassi you believe that all the deals are either expensive AAA games or super cheap games that are not worth one's time. You believe that so strongly that you ignore the hundreds of games that don't fall into either group. I could list examples, but there are so many that it's simply unnecessary.
Seeing how it's Wii Shopping Channel Wednesday and Ninja Gaiden is on sale......
Ninja Gaiden 1,
Ninja Gaiden 2,
Ninja Gaiden 3,
...........Crusin' USA
@Fyz306903
Could be worse. Nintendo has never digitally sold a Switch first party game for less than 30% off of full. And they RARELY go on sale at all.
Quantity rather than quality
@naruball Tomassi isn’t far off in what he’s saying though, especially with the first party games in this ‘sale’. With me being only interested in PS exclusives, I personally wouldn’t pay more than £25 for any of the first party games but at least we’ll soon have PS Plus Extra to play the likes of Returnal, GoW, Death Stranding. Hopefully R&C Rift Apart will be added sometime this year as I wouldn’t mind subscribing for those one and done type games and saving myself a lot of money in doing so.
@naruball it's video games, I really don't feel THAT strongly about it
You shouldn't too.
I hope you find something you enjoy in this sale
@MaccaMUFC thank you! You may be a Man Utd fan, but you're alright
I feel like I'm forgetting something about US tax or something but $49.69 for Returnal/Ratchet & Clank is, apparently, £37.79. But the UK sale price is £52.49...
Is it worth buying anything in the sale when a lot or some of them may be instantly free when the new Plus Tier system starts?Like others have said,Returnal,Death Stranding and Miles Morales we already know will be available so why buy them if you have plans to subscribe to the top tier?
@themightyant well said and games over 12 months old should be half price given the market competition.
It’s not like Nintendo who’s first party is always barren for long periods of time
Hope remothered tormented fathers is on sale I bought broken porcelain when it was on sale & I've been waiting for the first game to go on sale so I can play that one first
On Amazon you can get GT7(PS5) & Horizon FW(PS5) for £55'ish each I think which is a bargain really & already to???
Picked up ride4 ps5 for 12 quid and its true take the northwest 200 track remove all of the hud add a bit of rain and like the YouTube video it's photo realistic.
Are all these going to be available for a tenner a month? If so these sales look less appealing
