The carousel of deals continues to spin over on the PlayStation Store. The latest sale, Essential Picks, brings prices down on hundreds of PS5 and PS4 games and DLC, meaning there's something for practically everyone once again.
Starting with some of the bigger games, The Last of Us: Part II is a bargain at £17.49 / $19.99, while Need for Speed Heat is heavily discounted at £11.99 / $11.99. Mortal Kombat 11 has its price violently slashed to £13.99 / $9.99, and DIRT 5 is dirt cheap at just £15.39 / $19.79. We'd also recommend Life Is Strange: True Colors, reduced to £29.99 / $35.99.
On the smaller scale, Fall Guys is only £6.39 / $7.99, The Messenger is going for the same, and Spelunky 2 is reduced to £7.99 / $9.99.
There's a lot to explore in the new sale, so give the PS Store a browse to see what tickles your fancy. Will you be buying anything in this new deal? Tell us in the comments section below.

I almost, yet again, pulled the trigger on the Last of Us Part II. I've played it two times, once with Gamefly and once with PS Now and I'd like to own it. However, I know as soon as I buy it, the PS5 Director's Cut will be announced and there'll be some sort of nonsense why my copy can't upgrade to it or something.
Also, I picked up Judgment. That was a game I also played on Gamefly. I bought the PS5 version. I can't get my PS4 save into the PS5 version. Sony, get your crap together. It should not be this hard.
Damn you Sony. Are you trying to bankrupt me???
@TheCollector316 personally I find that unlikely (first paragraph) - given that Naughty Dog recently released the uncharted collection and allowed people to upgrade from 1 PS4 game (unless you already owned both of course) to the PS5 version including both games, for a small upgrade price.
Getting a free PS4 to PS5 upgrade might be a bit much to expect, but I don't think you'd have to buy the whole game all over again.
Then again, that's what happened with Spider-man on PS4 (and a few other games but this one is notable as it's a Sony first party game) so it's hard to really know what to expect
@danlk1ng
I am also skeptical about buying PS4 games, even if they have a PS5 upgrade. Sony could one day decide the PS6 is backwards compatible with PS5 but not PS4 or some other arbitrary nonsense like that. It's unlikely, but Sony does crazy stuff.
Same games, same prices.
How is it a “sale” when these games have been these prices at retail for quite some time now?
Steamworld games are all just a couple of quid and all cross buy for Vita, so are a couple of the indie collections I think
Bought Devil May Cry 1,2,3 remaster to fill my OCD hole in my digital collection.
I now have every DMC game on my hard drive, hardly played any of them though since the first one on PS2!!
The Ace Attorney trilogy is about £12, so about £4 per game. Absolute classics, so well worth it.
@marnelljm I buy from the Turkish PSN store, their prices make even retail look expensive:
Just bought Demon's Souls for £21, Judgment for £9 and Returnal for £25
@MarkMarky I just looked this up and it seems legit… everything’s like half the price! 🤯
@TheCollector316 I also bought Judgment from this sale and the PS4 version does not offer a free upgrade so I'm glad I could finally get the ps5 version at a good price.
@marnelljm Maybe for people of other countries that use US/UK or whatever region store because physical copies cost triple.
@MarkMarky I would love to buy there, but it's only possible with a Turkish credit card, right? There aren't PSN cards.
Thankfully, because of 2020, I don’t have the desire to purchase older games because I’ve beaten the ones I had wanted. The new games, however, are the challenge to keep up with!
Spelunky 2 for under $10? I'm in...
@TheCollector316 Crazy thoughts like that go thru my head every time I read about saving $10 by buying the PS4 copy. While unlikely, there are certainly examples of bad stuff going on generation to generation. Squenix has to be the worst. Digital seem a little safer but I have had that same thought about putting a PS4 disc in a PS6 in 5 years and having it not work.
Some people are glass half full, I'm glass broken on the floor in a million pieces.😝
Think I'm gonna pick up FIST and Lost in Random whilst they have a little off them.
And GT7 this week as well.
Gonna need to find some hours 😂
@rjejr
Haha. Exactly. That's why I intend to buy the PS5 version of Horizon Forbidden West when it hits $40. I am fine with waiting a while as the game will be a much better experience then as well.

Bless him.
Tempted to buy DIRT 5 but I know that game received a rather mixed reception so I'm not sure.
I’m going for Fall Guys since I didn’t have a PS4/Plus when it was on there. Might snag Among Us too. Hopefully there are some single player games I like on the sale when I check it out later tonight.
@RubyCarbuncle its a tough sell in a week with gt7 launching.
But if arcade racy fun with a kicking sound track is your boat, the game is well worth your time. It doesnt re invent anything or do anything new, but what it does, it does well. I thouroughly enjoyed beating it, and even got a lead on a few kicking tunes Id not heard before.
Hope you enjoy it if you do jump in!
@RubyCarbuncle If you like arcade racers, I think it’s great. Thought it got a pretty good reception. 81% on OpenCritic, including an 8/10 here. That’s better than “mixed” IMO.
Picked up Arkham Knight’s Season Pass for $4, one that’s been sitting on my wish list for awhile! Gotta save for some upcoming titles so that’s it’s for me this time around.
@TheCollector316 Pretty much. I'm still getting Kirby day 1 b/c that game will be $60 for 5 years and I don't need a hard mode or extra amiibo hats, whatever Nintendo adds.
@TheCollector316 i hear you on your TLoU II reservations. I have the physical steelbook version but am finding myself drawn more and more to the ease of digital (less physical clutter and less hassle switching games from one person to next) and so I'd like to just own this digitally but i worry once i buy it they'll pull some shenanigans a week or so after and announce TLOU Saga - Collectors Directors Cut Premium Ultimate Edition. No upgrade path cause it comes with Factions 2.
Arkham knight season pass is 5 $ cad, good deal if you still have just the base game and waiting for this.
@zupertramp
Yes, exactly.
