Bandai Namco has confirmed that the awkwardly titled Klonoa: Phantasy Reverie Series will release on the 9th July for both PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. It'll be available both physically and digitally in Europe, but those in North America will have to settle for digital only. The remastered collection, which includes Klona: Door to Phantomile (PS1) and Klona 2: Lunatea's Veil (PS2), was announced back in February.
It's not just enhanced visuals that set these remasters apart from the originals, either. New difficulty options have been added — easy, normal, and hard — along with co-op. Well, kind of. From what we understand, this isn't a full co-op mode — it's just that a second play can offer support through different button presses. One example in the press release shows a 'support jump' option at the bottom of the screen.
Are you looking forward to the return of Klonoa? Did you play the original games? Start wearing a cool baseball cap in the comments section below.

I'd be interested enough to see a trailer.
Only thing really on my radar for the next 4 or 5 months does seem a bit of lull in releases in the upcoming months. It does means I can get my backlog down a bit.
Really looking forward to this. Both games are wonderful platformers with surpisingly emotional and thoughtful stories despite the cutesy apperance. July can't come soon enough!
Can't wait for this collection. Both of the games are of the finest platforming games out there. Hoping this leads to Klonoa 3
Weird as hell this is getting a physical in Europe but not America or Japan, but eh
Super excited for these!
Nostalgia is good but when its a ratio of 90s remasters higher than new titles and new IPs its way oversaturated. Like the new KAO game. Its going to flop hard but nostalgia will sell copies. This may be good but the fact there is next to no NEW content coming out between May and September and a lot of remasters is not a good thing.
I'm interested to see what Hard mode means for a Klonoa game!
@Resi32 I can’t say that I agree with you, but I have to thank you for mentioning the new Kao game which is now on my wishlist.
Absolutely Hyped for this game!Loved playing these back in the day. Bring on a nice steelbook version.
I remember loving these.
But can say the same for Spyro. Ended playing a few hrs and gave up on it.
Wish they'd give NA a physical release. Thankfully we can import but come on.
That's music in my ears. I really want this physical on PS5
I’m all over this one, Klonoa 1 was so much better than you’d think it’d be and I’ve always wanted to play number 2. Names are spelt wrong in the article, though!
I pre-purchased the PS5 physical copy off Playasia. Looks like they are still up.
@Apfelschteiner Here you go

@Nintendo4Sonic @Wazeddie22 Digital only release in the USA sadly.
@Kriandis Thanks, I'm probably not going to play it as it's mostly 2D.
I only discovered the magic of Klonoa in the last few years when I played the PS1 game for the first time, and I’ve since played the PS2 game too. Despite having played them recently, I’ll still be getting these remasters.
@KidBoruto yep, but not in Europe.
I'm surprised they aren't just updating the Wiimake of 1 and doing the same for 2. I loved that version.
@Apfelschteiner Yeah, I think back in the day they called it 2.5D
@KidBoruto Bad luck for you.Unless you can import it.Maybe a physical will turn up later..
