Is Square Enix on the cusp of announcing a new Tactics Ogre game? Maybe a remaster or remake? It's possible, going by this newly publicised trademark for 'Tactics Ogre: Reborn' in Japan.
Stone cold strategy RPG classic Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together originally released for SNES in 1995. It was later ported to the first PlayStation in 1997, and was eventually remade for the PlayStation Portable in 2010. It's largely considered to be a precursor to the equally superb Final Fantasy Tactics.
Now look, before we all get too excited, let's just point out that this trademark could be for anything — even a mobile game. Having said that, an unspecified Tactics Ogre title was part of the big Nividia leak from last year. Hmmmm.
That said, would you flip your lid if a new Tactics Ogre title was really happening? Gather your ragtag army in the comments section below.

Probably Switch only like most 2D Remakes in recent times (Live A Live, Front Mission...)
Exciting for sure but most probably mobile or Switch only.
Sorry, but it seems lately everything Square Enix touches turns to mold... except FF7 Remake, FF 14 and the Dragon Quest series
@NoFaceBigFoot Triangle Strategy is superb.
@bozz I didn't realize Triangle Strategy was Square Enix, but I definitely plan on picking it up in the future.
@bozz I couldn’t get into it because the game was talking so much and wouldn’t let me play.
@IonMagi Switch and PC
Id love it on PlayStation. We will have to see how it goes.
HD-2D remake on Switch would be a dream. Triangle Strategy was incredible.
@NoFaceBigFoot must be a different studio/publisher you're talking about. SE is on a roll.
So many remasters and remakes. I thought last gen was bad.
@tameshiyaku On a roll... looks over at Babylon's Fall Mkay.
If they announce a proper remake or something like HD-2D, I’ll be very excited. I believe Sakimoto, my boi, did the sublime score for this title.
If it’s just a cheap remaster, I’ll still be excited. Why? I’m a sucker, that’s why.
The name sounds like a remaster, not a new game. I've only ever briefly played Tactics Ogre (like first couple battles only), but it's the practice run for the best game ever made, Final Fantasy Tactics, so I'd love to finally play through it proper.
Probably a moderately improved remake like Front Mission seems to be getting. Switch/PC, most likely.
@NoFaceBigFoot @bozz Triangle Strategy feels like a lost classic from their PS1 golden age. It's fantastic, and not the sort of game I ever thought I'd see them publish again.
@tameshiyaku You just made yourself look like you have the IQ of a tadpole... Square Enix is sure rolling at the moment... like a Mack truck running down an 11% grade without breaks working... unless you consider Babylon's Fall to be as awesome as Elden Ring, Horizon or GT7.
Please Square... please....
This is another overlooked masterpiece. It deserves a remaster or remake.
It may be exciting...unless they change it to another genre like they are doing w the Valkyrie games.
@NoFaceBigFoot The good far outweighs the bad imo, but wow, do you generally think people who don't agree with you have a low IQ? 😂
That artwork gets me all excited
Fantastic news. I've actually just decided to buy a switch for the kids...😉
I don't know about their aaa games, but as far as unusual rpg games go square enix have been great lately, almost like the 90s era.
