The LEGO games have always done rather well when it comes to retail sales, and LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga has proven no different. This latest entry in the brick-filled franchise debuts in the number one spot on the UK's weekly boxed games chart. In terms of which format is most popular, it's actually the PlayStation 5 version that takes the largest wedge with 31 per cent, but the share is fairly evenly split across all consoles.
As reported by GamesIndustry.biz, the title has enjoyed the second biggest launch in the UK this year, beating the impressive launch weekend sales of Elden Ring and Horizon Forbidden West. In fact, it's the largest launch for a LEGO game ever, and that's without including digital sales.
Meanwhile, there's been some movement lower down in the top 10 as well. Elden Ring, which was in second place last week, is now in sixth — its lowest position since launch, which is good going, really. Gran Turismo 7 is also holding out well, sticking with seventh place on the grid. Tiny Tina's Wonderlands has taken a bit of a tumble, falling from fourth to 11th, and Horizon Forbidden West is also down, sliding from 10th to 14th.
Here's the latest top 10 in full. Remember that this is purely based on physical sales.

- FIFA 22

Well that was expected.
Slightly surprised Kirby at number 2 after three weeks, I thought the pink thing had no legs 😂
"31% of boxed sales were on PS5, 26% on Nintendo Switch, 23% on Xbox and 20% on PS4."
Holy cow. Is that saying the PS4 version outsold all Xbox versions just by itself and the PS5 did that again by 1.5x over?
Edit: I can't read, apparently. Still, the PS4 version by itself almost sold as much as all Xbox versions and the PS5 blew that out of the water. We're looking at a collective 51% vs. 23%.
Sony issue is Consoles at the minute another day gone by in the UK and no consoles, more consoles more Sony exclusive games in the charts.
Outsold again by Nintendo and Xbox.
About 40K this week behind Xbox.
If you took Japan out it would 70K behind Xbox.
They need get on this.
@Dezzy70 The question is how?
@TheCollector316
It’s was 32% Xbox in the UK.
@TheCollector316 no, ps4 at 20% and Xbox at 23%. Xbox were not outsold by ps4.
Nevertheless it’s a hefty gap between PlayStation and Xbox.
@naruball
Not sure how I’m not in the chip market.
I guess chips and money talk. 😂
@Reeneman
From the website 32% Xbox.
32 percent of LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga retail sales were on the PS5, 26 percent on the Nintendo Switch, 32 percent on the Xbox, and 20 percent on the PS4.
@Dezzy70 31% of boxed sales were on PS5, 26% on Nintendo Switch, 23% on Xbox and 20% on PS4.

@Reeneman
Mines from VG charts, so god knows what one is right 😂
A bit over a year in the market and PS5 is already the system for 3rd party game sales. Why I always get a PS first each generation.
Sony is the safest bet out of the 3 hardware makers.
Not played Lego yet. But on the rental list.
Horizon Forbidden West drops out of the top 10 while Elden Ring and even the almost 3 months old Arceus stick around for another week.
It's almost like £70 for a game is too much to the average consumer...
Sony 1st games will continue to do well week one then disappearing till black Friday if Sony UK continue to rip us off.
@Dezzy70 I'm not sure which figures are correct, but the ones you posted add to 110% so there's definitely a mistake in there somewhere.
Genuinely shocked GTA5 isn't on the list lol
@Kevw2006
Did not notice that. Oh well at least the game did well overall sales wise.
Not into Lego games myself though.
@HeeHo
Like I posted on here Sony issue is consoles and lack of lately PS5 wise. If they shipped more they would sell and so would their exclusive games I think.
Trouble is also the world is changing just look at game pass good or bad it could be the future releasing exclusives day one on a service.
Rumor has it that microsoft overpaid chip manufacturers for chip priority..I didn't see a single post about it and it's weird cause this site is the first to write anything bad about sony true or false.
@HeeHo It's more to do with lack of consoles rather then the price of games. Sony's other games sold well despite the price.
@Dezzy70 wahey very good 🤣🤣
@uptownsoul but Series S is digital only hence no sales figs included
@KingPev
Not sure what I said was very good?
@Dezzy70 about Kirby not having the legs 😉
@KingPev
It’s true, I can’t find them 😊
I bought three deluxe copies (2x PS5 and 1x Switch) for me and my Nephews. £150! 😩
Well… we’re meant to get a £150 rebate on our council tax this month in the UK (for the energy crisis 👀) so that about covers it ha!
Really enjoying the game. Wasn’t sure at first but now I think it’s the best LEGO game to date. Currently on Episode II (Started on Episode I). Huge fan of the prequel trilogy and they’ve absolutely nailed them.
I wasn’t happy with how Tt games’ handled communication with fans during development but I’ve got to hand it to them, they really did a great job with the game.
In the US the physical deluxe PS5 version is sold out. I have been looking for a copy.
@BritneyfR_ee What was wrong with how TT Games handled communication?
@TranslucentEye damn has GTA5 dropped out the top ten already?!
I've started on TPM, but unfortunately it makes my wife sick when played split screen.
Its a great game, best Lego game in years by far.
@Dezzy70 FYI Horizon Forbidden West is also on ps4.
@Blacksmith1985
Yes correct I know that.
But more PS5 being available to sell would help the situation.
A lot of PS4 owners are all FIFA and COD and not the hardcore PlayStation exclusives gang.
Sales figures over the years tell us that.
@TheCollector316 Not quite sure what you're trying to say but this is in line with consoles sold figures*
50.57 million XBO + 13.89 million XBX|S = 64.46 million total
116.93 million PS4 + 19.18 million PS5 = 136.11 million total
So a ratio of 0.476:1 consoles. Ratio of physical copies sold is 0.451:1 so it's in the right ball park.
However 2 LARGE caveats.
1) This is only boxed sales, other data suggests suggests Xbox owners buy a higher proportion digitally.
2) Many of those PS4 and XBO owners are also PS5 or XSX owners or both.
Honestly there's not much to read into here.
Figures sourced from VGChartz
@Dezzy70 Horizon is for the same players who play Witcher games and Souls games and ubisoft games.
And install base is over 100 million.
There is novreal excuse why Horizon is underperforming.
But anyway, it'll sell. No games of such high caliber is planned within next 6 months or so.
So.. Lots of people will get it.
Including myself. I'm still fully into Elden ring. 120 hours in and haven't finished it yet.
Haven't preordered Horizon, as I fully understood I couldn't invest my time in both games simultaneously.
@Dezzy70 then you need to be a bit more realistic. Everyone is struggling with the chips. Not just Sony.
Mario Kart 5th even tho it’s been out yonks!! Great game tho, my fav Switch game.
@uptownsoul
See the below the official UK sales for Lego skywalker saga digital and physical. Not much difference here.
It is comfortably the second biggest game launch of the year overall in the UK. And the fastest-selling LEGO game in history.
In terms of digital, Xbox was the dominant platform accounting for 41% of sales, PlayStation accounted for 34%, PC 18% and Switch 7%.
Overall (so including physical retail), PlayStation was the biggest platform with 39% of sales, followed by Xbox (34%), then Switch (16%) and finally PC (11%).

Thank you. Was just lots on here were making out PlayStation had such a massive uptake on the game sales compared to Xbox in the UK. I have all three consoles by the way.
So I thought I would post the now official figures.
Yes PlayStation is first 39% but Xbox not far behind with 34% physical and digital all combined.
I think on here the PlayStation gang are used to being top dogs during the PS4 era and wiping the floor with all.
It’s a bit different this time round, just look at recent console sales not so top dog, for whatever the reason.
Look at Switch still leading the way, look at Xbox having a little fight back.
@uptownsoul
I guess they are including both generations of both PlayStation and Xbox.
You would either include both or just PS5 and Series.
As it’s says PlayStation and Xbox you would logically conclude it is the same for both console types.
For the record Sony will outsell Xbox that’s for sure.
