In a move that we certainly didn't see coming, Watch Dogs is getting its own manga spinoff. Titled Watch Dogs Tokyo, the manga will debut on the 12th April, but only in Japan for now. It's being illustrated by Syuhei Kamo, whose previous work includes Gangsta: Cursed. Seiichi Shirato is handling the writing side of things.
Ubisoft has a long history of branching its properties out into different types of media. For example, Assassin's Creed has been adapted to film, books, and — you guessed it — manga. Again, we weren't expecting to write about a Watch Dogs manga today, but it doesn't come as a huge surprise when you consider the ways in which Ubisoft likes to operate.
It'll be interesting to see how this fresh foray works out. A bustling city like Tokyo could make for a fantastic Watch Dogs setting, but for the time being, you'll have to make do with this 2D representation.

Hopefully testing the waters for Watchdogs 3 set in Tokyo.. I refuse to believe the absolute stinker that was Legion is how this series ends.
Let Watch Dogs die and do something new
Sigh. Stop trying to make Watch Dogs happen.
Really Watch Dogs set in Japan before AC.
That's too bad it's just a manga. I like Watch Dogs but more for the gameplay than the plot so I'm not really interested in this. Tokyo is literally a perfect setting for a watch dogs game though. Maybe this can lead up to a full game.
Setting watchdogs would be the best way to get me to buy a new Watchdogs. Watchdogs legion had a perfect setting of London, but I couldn't stomach the concept for the rest of the game.
Watch Dogs meets Scarlet Nexus graphics set in Tokyo.
I would buy that in a heart beat.
I liked the original watch dogs , 2 was rubbish & I didn't bother with legion
Loved Watch Dogs 2 but not heard great stuff about Legion at all. Hopefully the series gets another chance.
The series peaked for me with Watch Dogs 1. I really REALLY don't like the Dedsec angle 2 and Legion take, that said I liked them alright. Being a vigilante with a personal vendetta was a lot cooler, and less restrictive storywise. The combat and chases got a MASSIVE downgrade in the next games. Whatever they do next, I hope they keep Dedsec in the background. Kinda weird how they're making a manga, but whatever.
I honestly don't know where they could take the series. The hacking gimmick really sucks sometimes, and it doesn't add anything to the experience outside a few dozen tedious puzzles. They should scale it back, and try to realize the ambition of the first game.
Just a truly interactive and reactive world that takes place in the criminal underbelly of a big city taken over by even bigger tech.
I just want a new Driver : San Francisco - esque game… Apparently they canceled it to work on Watch_Dogs.
seriously....
for me watchdogs 1 is perfect i still play it today.
2 and 3 meh
love is blindness, I don’t wanna see won’t you take watch dogs, away from me
@Fight_Teza_Fight
Actually pretty hilarious that. I was begging for a Smaurai AC back when AC was sorta playable. Ubi didn't think it was profitable, because what else can you expect from a company that keeps forcing futuristic crap for the sake of trying (hard) to be cool. They're out of touch. They always follow trends way too late.
This one's after Nioh, Sekiro, Tsushima, that recent Tokyo game, etc and it's not even a game lol
A Tokyo Watch Dogs would've genuinely been cool if it had WD2 polish
Maybe the plot will be good this time.
Watch dog in Japan would be cool.
Watch Dogs Legion was great fun in parts. I thought it had some interesting stories too. I think the fact that it had no specific protagonist went against it but I thought Bagley was great.
I'm not surprised at all this is happening, Ubisoft has a LONG history of creating both manga and comic book/graphic novel spinoffs based on their existing gaming franchises.
Why I just recently bought a big stack of their comics/manga, with loads more waiting in my Amazon shopping cart.
