Ubisoft has revealed that a dedicated Assassin's Creed event will air in September, and that the broadcast will reveal the franchise's future. In other words, this is most likely going to be where we find out about the next game in the series.
The persistent rumour is that this new title is smaller in scale, with a bigger focus on stealth. It could also star Basim, one of the main characters from Assassin's Creed Valhalla.
Of course, there's also Assassin's Creed Infinity to consider — the supposed live service game that'll be spread across a bunch of different timelines. We haven't heard any whispers about that one in a while, though.
What do you hope to see at this event in September? Sharpen your hidden blade in the comments section below.

I loved the series from the start to Syndicate. Once they switched the formula to Origins, it became bloated and boring.
Bit rubbish to wait until September but the Valhalla stuff looked decent. Nice to hear we’ll get a proper ending for Eivor at some point.
I should probably play the DLC at some point but I definitely didn’t feel like doing straight after 160h of the main game, which basically didn’t have an ending at all (my biggest complaint about Valhalla, really)
Wasn't much in that stream today but oh well. September isn't too far away at least.
These teasers for teases starts to get annoying. Capcom did the same with Dragon's Dogma.
Sony do their big State of Play in Septmber now right? Maybe the game will be part of it this year?
Please go back to the old gameplay and game design (when it was good). And please for the love of god ditch Layla 🙏
I hope we keep getting these big open worlds too. Nothing wrong with going back to Syndicate-style, but I want more big open worlds. No one makes them like Ubi.
Imo Valhalla is one of the worst games in the franchise, after Origins and Odyssey were so good, so any move away from the uncharismatic Eivor would be excellent
time to go to sleep AC . you’ve been wringed out since 2007 .
though a live service would be dope though , i’d like to make my own assassin and stuff so maybe there is just a lil more juice to milk from this franchise
@Uncharted2007 You took my words... Syndicate was last "true" Assassin's Creed game.
@Lup Looks like you didn't get "core" of Assassin's Creed games. Go and play some random MMO if you want big world (no offence).
@djlard
What, am I not able to say what I want anymore? I don't like MMOs. AC gives me the single-player experience I like and enjoy.
I've enjoyed pretty much all of them, but the new trilogy was a breath of fresh air. If they can make both (Syndicate-style and Origins-style) that would be pretty cool.
Origins was the last good AC game. I just hope that they go back to giving us really good stories and characters, that's why a lot of people fell in love with AC
I'm going to jump into this discussion regarding the size of the games. But I'd like to see the games to go back to how it used to be also.
As much as I enjoy the newer games, Origins is amazing for exploring and Odyssey is great for the combat. But Valhalla has shown me how empty the world is. There is soooo many collectibles all over the place. And this is the future of the game, keep making them bigger, make it grindy, more open empty spaces, forget what's happening in the story, etc. The reason why Origins exploring is so good is because Ancient Egypt is so interesting. But the same can't be said for many other places.
I'm fine with them making big open world games but i think they should be standalone warrior games while they focus on what made AC feel like a proper assassin game with many different ways to get stealth kills. If Ubi wants to keep making AC open world as it is, then it would be nice to have the older games every now and again in between releases
So in JUNE, they're teasing a reveal in SEPTEMBER?
Sounds like they're not ready to show anything and afraid of being left out of summer announcements. Announcing they're going to announce something next quarter just feels lame.
They should just stay quiet until they have something to say - instead, they try to pump the hype. Come September they'll get upset at unrealistic, hyped-up expectations that they created themselves.
@Lup hopefully open world doesn’t continue to plague franchises like it’s been doing though . it wouldn’t be fair if it were the other way around and initial open world games became more linear
If the rumours are true and the next game will be a live service garbage, Valhalla will be the last decent AC game we got, and that makes me sad since I am a fan of this series since it's reveal trailer way back in the day. I was there day one when AC released even when it got a ton of critics I enjoyed it a lot. Then the masterpiece AC2 released and I even got the plat trophy that required getting the damn feathers...ah, the memories.
But hey, there is still hope...right?
Introducing assassin's creed nfts & assassin's creed battle royale
@Uncharted2007 couldn't agree with this more. Syndicate was the peak for me too.
@Teddie-bear That's correct, but Sony called their big September events "Showcases".
It's possible that the game might show up there, but don't expect it to eat up much time.
@Lup Yes... new trilogy gave AC series lots of fresh air... lots of air... lots of clear, empty air. Empty air... it feels like building LEGO set, but pieces are scattered around your neighborhood.
@djlard
No game, piece of media or anything will please everyone.
The empty air you metion is in the series since the Altaïr and Ezio days. It's part of the series.
@Lup Ewr.... No. In a few seconds you could be on top of building and by traversing from building to building you got fast everywhere, plus you always could collect some flag, shard or any collectible. Sneaking, assassinations and story was continual and catchy. Now... ? I forget what happened before I reach another story checkpoint. And if you look closely, you find out very soon that EVERYTHING is 450m-550m from closest fast travel (in case you want to cheat long traveling by fast travel points). So, it is big just because to be big, NOT because there is so much content it won't fit into smaller map.
@djlard Oh yeah! Collecting flags and feathers, the epitome of gaming. How could I forget about that?
The story wasn't really "catchy" to me. I loved the stuff outside of the Animus but Ezio and his story was super boring to me.
You don't need to agree with me. Just accept some people like stuff you don't and that's it.
I will gladly pay for games I like, even if other people think it's sh#t.
I love all the new content, most of all the side-missions each with its own story.
@Lup Yes, Desmonds story was one of the best of all games I've played, and story outside Animus is the most missing thing in new Assassins.
I accept people like new ACs. I play them only just in hope they at least try to return to track of this series basics (unfortunately they are moving away more and more).
What I was trying to say was... imagine Diablo game with beautiful graphics, one act huge as whole Diablo 3, but with only 5 monsters per act... Yes there will be people who love it, but it won't be "Diablo" game at its' basics.
